WHAT IS DGA?
● Extraction and Analysis of those gases for monitoring and diagnostic purposes for
detecting incipient faults.
● Dissolved gas analysis (DGA) is an examination of electrical transformer oil
contaminants.
● Dissolved gas analysis (DGA) is the study of dissolved gases in transformer oil.
● In other words, Dissolved Gas Analysis(DGA) is the study of dissolved gases in the
transformer oil to examine the insulation condition of the transformer.
IEC AND IEEE STANDARDS OF DGA:
● IEC 60567:2011 deals with the techniques for sampling free gases from gas-collecting
relays from power transformers.
● IEEE. IEEE Guide for the Interpretation of Gases Generated in Mineral Oil-Immersed
Transformers; IEEE Std C57.104-2019 (Revision of IEEE Std C57.104-2008); IEEE:
Piscataway, NJ, USA, 2019; pp. 1–98. [CrossRef]

Headspace Technique
● Solid-Phase Microextraction.
● Extraction Methods.
● Poly(vinyl Chloride)
● Microextraction.
● Chromatograph.
● Sample Preparation.
● Volatile Agent.
● Sorbent.
NIR spectroscopy
● Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy is concerned with absorption, emission,
reflection, and diffuse-reflection of light in the region of 800–2500 nm.
● NIR works by shining broad spectrum light on a material.
● Spectroscopy: Study of the absorption and emission of light and other
radiation by matter. Tools for studying the structures of atom and molecules.
● To shine a beam of electromagnetic radiation onto a sample and observe how
it responds to such a stimulus.

FUNCTIONS OF HYDROCAL 1011 genX P (Portable DGA)
● Equipment does not require and carrier or calibration gases for its normal operation.
● The equipment uses Automated Headspace principle for separation of Gases from oil using
bubbling.
● MTE HYDROCAL works with AC as well as with DC.
● MTE HYDROCAL has SD Card based 1GB standard memory, which can store results more than
20000 records
● HYDROCAL 1011genX (P) has multiple communication options:
-USB
-RJ 45
In addition to the processing and presenting the read out data, Hydrosoft is also used for the configuration of
HYDROCAL devices.
