1 "Personally, it's a tough issue because I can't stand living a zero waste

lifestyle. Despite being a daunting choice, it would demand a drastic

change in all of my habits. Instead, society is consumerist, and almost all
the products we obtain in stores and supermarkets are unsustainable for
our planet."

2 “I know that if everyone does their part, we will be able to achieve a

more sustainable environment. For this, first of all, it is necessary to
change the mindset of all of society. Afterwards, the most important
step is to put in the effort to change bad habits.”

3) "Some years ago, here in Brazil, supermarkets stopped the free

distribution of plastic bags. If we needed them, we would have to buy
them. It was a way to force everyone to acquire ecological recycling bags
for our purchases. I only tried to reduce my use of plastics during this
time. Later on, they restarted the free distribution of plastic bags, so I
stopped using ecological bags."

4) "From my point of view, both consumers and producers are

responsible for reducing the use of plastics and other non-recyclables.
Producers follow consumers’ habits, and consumers acquire disposable
items in stores and supermarkets from producers."

5) "I do not recycle in my home. I only do so when I need some material

for handicrafts or my kids’ school projects."
6) "Here in Brazil, they don’t allocate enough resources. There is a lack
of policies and actions to increase people’s awareness about this issue."

7) "If I were the president, I would forbid the production of any

unsuitable material that can be harmful to our planet. Additionally, I
would explore alternative methods of managing waste instead of
burning it."

8) "Truly, these products and the wasteful lifestyle of our society are
responsible for global warming. The environmental climate change that
we are facing nowadays is already a consequence of it."

9) "I think launching awareness campaigns is a good way to start

educating people about the effects these products have on the
environment."

10) "Of course, they should! Children must have lessons about these
issues and learn how to put all they have learned into practice."

11) "From my point of view, both parents and teachers are responsible
for educating children about being less wasteful. However, not only
through words but also by setting a good example. Children learn by
imitation, following what they see their parents and teachers doing."

12) "Yes, I do. This is because any product that is healthier or more
suitable tends to be expensive. Probably, if people start searching more
for this kind of products, their cost will eventually decrease."
13) "I think an international consensus would be more effective in
regulating the actions of all countries to address this issue."

14) "I don’t think so. It would require a significant shift in society's
mindset and habits."

15) "I would say that they must think about the future of our planet and
the next generation. How will our children survive in this world?"

16) "Yes, I do. The increasing temperatures have become the most
significant challenge that the entire world is currently facing."

17) "I would stop waste from going into the ocean because this action is
harmful to the entire aquatic ecosystem and contributes to the
extinction of aquatic animals."

18) "I could do so by first changing my own lifestyle and setting an

example for others."
