NOTE

Aérospatiale recommends the use of oils type MIL-

L-23699C or NATO 0156 in the gearboxes of their
new generation aircraft (Ecureuil, Dauphin, Super
Puma). Subsequent to a decision by the Aerospatiale

Engineering Department, oils type DOD-L 85734

(AS) or NATO 0160 may be used in the gearboxes of

the aircraft mentioned above without any drawbacks,

as alternatives to NATO 0156 oils.

If the oil is changed in a gearbox, it is recommended

that the gearbox be rinsed according to the
appropriate aircraft Maintenance Manual work card.
