The inverters convert 28 VDC of the electric system into 26 V and 115 VAC and supply terminal junction 7B 819. The FLT inverters 1 and 2 are supplied with 28 VDC from NO. 1 and NO. 2 ESS BUS via circuit breakers INV 1 and 2 (overhead console) and via toggle switches INVERTER 1 and 2 (main switch panel/center console) . The terminal junction is supplied with 26 V and 115 VAC via circuit breakers INVERTER 1/26 VAC/115 VAC and INVERTER 2/26 VAC/115 VAC. These circuit breakers are installed in the roof area behind the pilot. In the event of a malfunction or a failure the operative inverter takes over the functions of the defective inverter. This operation is controlled by relays K808 and 818. Failure of an inverter is indicated by yellow caution lights INV 1 or INV 2 on the annunciator panel. EFFECTIVITY The power supply to the inverters on helicopters equipped with the DAFCS system is modified as follows in comparison with those helicopters without this system. Each inverter is supplied with power through three feedlines connected respec- tively to the No.1 and No.2 main buses and through a relay to the battery hot bus. Each of these feedlines is protected against reverse currents by a diode, so that disconnection of the buses is ensured in the event of short circuiting 823-, Rev. 2 TROUBLESHOOTING - DUAL AC SYSTEM Perform troubleshooting procedures with EPU connected to the helicopter (refer to paragraph 92-71). NO. 1 and NO. 2 FLT ESS BUS must be energized, Circuit breakers INV 1 and 2 must be pushed and toggle switches INVERTER 1 and 2 set to position ON. Caution lights INV 1 and 2 must be tested with caution light test switch ANN PNL TEST. For troubleshooting refer to wiring diagram 823 in the WDM. Check that all electrical connectors are clean and tight, and perform functional test on circuit breakers and toggle switches.
