1. Problem Statement

First phase of Chapter one, problem in this phase being identified and
providing solution for the problem, this implement by collecting data
such as Raw Data, Marketing requirement and how it’s ranked these data
depending on priority that’s belong to the Raw Data and Marketing
requirement for solving the problem.

1.1.1 Raw Data

Raw data it’s about the information being collected by interview and
experience with people or observations, such as something the collector
see it or notice it in real life, by these data the priority and requirement of
the customer become clearer.

1.1.2 Customer Requirements (Need Analysis)

What is the most important requirements the customers search for it ?,


this is the question of this section, in this section the requirement of
customers defined for determine the project requirements that achieve
customer requirements, also for improving the product quality that agree
with customers’ needs and requirements.

1.2.Research Survey or Literature Review


This section gives more information and details about the product concept
and benefits, also gives more details about pros and cons in most products
related in this project.

1.2.1 Background Knowledge


Count Motion Sensor is an idea that count how much people pass via the
sensor, such as in section 1.1 (Raw Data) we mentioned that the counting
people has many uses in our life, Because People counting is an
important part of many several fields such as business management for
retailers, as it helps stores determine the number of potential shoppers in
their space with the help of a Count Motion Sensor counter, also there’s
extremely benefit that being provided by Count Motion Sensor which
needed very extremely in the current pandemic, Ensure Social Distancing
Practices Since the COVID-19 pandemic businesses are required to
implement a new restrictions on the number of visitors in their space to
ensure that there is no crowd in a specific place. [2]

1.2.2 Research Survey or Literature Review


The motion sensor uses in our life it’s become more popular because it’s
needed in many several fields in our life as the point mentioned in section
(2.1), the products in the marketing provide many motion sensor with a
good futures, easy and friendly to use for customers who doesn’t need to
know about the hidden details behind the components that establish the
entire motion, the most objectives this product provide is count people for
security, commercial uses and statistical purposes.

Xiaomi Mi Smart Motion Sensor

It’s a smart motion sensor uses infrared technology to recognize the


motion of human or animals it’s has fireproof because the materials made
of it give it more resistance of fire, it’s required 1 Lithium Metal batteries
to turn it on, the Battery life in a standard environment lasts up to 2 years
depending on the usage frequency, Small and discrete so it can be placed
anywhere, but it’s expensive because the sensor does not work in full
potential until you buy an extra part called Mi Control Hub it’s sold
separately, also in terms of durability it’s not have a shockproof or
waterproof, it has a small size. [7]

Eufy Security Motion Sensor

it’s a smart motion sensor work with a high range reaches to 30 ft with
wide angle coverage up to 100° degree, it has a future enable it to adjust
the level of motion Sensitivity with alerts work only when human pass
the sensor, because it’s a smart motion sensor it has an app for alerts that
sending a message to your phone the future of alerts work even if you too
far from it, also it has a decent battery life remain for 2 years, but there’s
cons in term of cost, the future of alerts app and portability, in the cost
and future the device need an extra part to achieve the future alert which
cost the customer more money and that make it more expensive, not
compatible with any surface, also it doesn’t have waterproof, heatproof
and shockproof. [8]

YoLink Motion Sensor

This is a wireless smart motion sensor has a Longest world range up to ¼


Mile it’s smart powered by LoRa technology, it has the alert future but in
real-time to your phone, low power consume it’s need only AAA battery
and it’s last depending on use, it has future that this sensor can linked
with Alexa voice assistant and IFTTT, the sensor can interact with other
devices but it’s need an additional part called YoLink Hub with out this
the only future you get it from the sensor is ¼ Mille detect, also it’s not
fits with all surfaces it’s need a flat surfaces and it doesn’t have
waterproof, heatproof and shockproof. [4]

THIRDREALITY Zigbee Motion Sensor

This is a smart wireless sensor compatible with any surface, it’s work by
two AAA battery last for 2 years depend on the use of customer, it has
additional future that make it somehow special, you can link it with lamp
and if someone pass via sensor the lamp will turn on, it has a low cost it
required an extra part but not a specific part you have three gens of this
part with variant value, but the futures does not work without this extra
part, it has a 9 meter range (30 ft) which not the best but it’s do a job and
the angle of the sensor it’s not wide, the waterproof, heatproof and
shockproof does not exist. [5]

SENCKIT Smart Motion Sensor

Wireless smart Motion Sensor with wireless this product focusing on how
much security provide in term of detected, it has alarm up to 110db and
can be modified by the app of this sensor in three modes 60db, 85db and
110db it’s work when the sensor detect any motion, it has dual infrared
detection to make it high accurate, it’s support 110° degree detection, the
smart futures of this sensor no need to hub it’s required an app to benefit
from all the futures, it's compatible with Alex, Google and Siri voice
assistant. [6]

1.3.Need and objectives statement
This section describe what our project want, why this project is important
?, why is it different from other products compared with it , this section
must answer all these question in two paragraph need statement and the
objective statement.

1.3.1 Need Statement


Most repeated problem in the field of motion sensors it’s the angle range,
you need to put it in a specific height to cover a specific area to detect the
objects clearly without losing some accurate, also in term of weathering
resistance there’s a hug lack of waterproof, heatproof, dustproof and
shockproof, the main problem of those system it’s so weak in outdoor
uses or vehicle uses for moving a lot of time such buses or Plane

1.3.2 Objectives Statement


The objectives of this project represent in provide a high quality in all
ways of use and to achieve these goals we need focusing more in term of
durability and the variant power source AC/DC with wide angle range to
improve accurate in specific area, less cost with less additional part need
to bring it to turn the device in full potential.

2.Requirement Specification
In requirement specification phase all the engineering requirements should
be clear and implemented, after that it should be gathered in one document
and that document called requirements specification.

2.1 Constrains
The design decision be limited and affected duo to the environment or
stakeholder, this section responsible to represent the constraints that the
project face it.

2.1.1 Embedded Linux


In this project there’s only one system can be available duo to the limit of
knowledge in the project’s team, the team only know how to use and
programing future connecting the system with components Embedded
Linux.

2.1.2 Central Processing Unit (CPU)


In this period the TSMC Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company
face problems with provide processor connectors.[7] duo to that the CPUs
maybe become very limited and that affected in term of time, also the
versions of the product well be less and limited in term of performance duo
to TSMC’s problems.

2.1.3 Shape of Design


There’s no more than one design of the project in term of shape, because
in project’s team there’s no one expert in term of shape design.

2.2 Standards
The standards depend on what the community commonly want and what
the things that community agreed on it, this section provide the type of
standers used in this project and what the usability of it.

2.2.1 Testing Standard


This standard used to determine the performance and evaluate it, it’s
depended on outcome of benchmarks test the comparing computational
performance, which can determine the general performance of the device.

ISO/IEC 9241-11 Standard


This standard deals with the extent to which a product can be used by
specified users to achieve specified goals with Effectiveness, Efficiency
and Satisfaction of use, This standard proposed a framework that describes
the usability components and the relationship between them. In this
standard, the usability is considered in terms of user performance and
satisfaction. According to ISO 9241-11, usability depends on context of
use and the level of usability will change as the context changes.[8]

2.2.2 Safety Standard
Safety Standard in design it means how the product test it to avoid dangers
situation from happened, this section present what used in term of safety
standard.

ISO 12100:2010 Standard


The primary purpose of this International Standard is to provide designers
with an overall framework and guidance for decisions during the
development of machinery to enable them to design machines that are safe
for their intended use. It also provides a strategy for standards developers.[9]

Usability of ISO 12100:2010 Standard


1 - reliability it’s ability of a machine or its components or equipment to
perform a required function under specified conditions and for a given
period without failing.[9]
2 - maintainability it’s ability of a machine to be maintained in a state
which enables it to fulfil its function under conditions of intended use, or
to be restored to such a state, with the necessary actions (maintenance)
being carried out according to specified practices and using specified
means.[9]

2.2.3 Communications Standard
this standard confirms how the system can communication with other
devices and exchange information between them.

ISO/IEC 17568:2013
The purpose of this standard to make sure that the device can transport the
data between the system and other devices, several type of data can be
exchange it between the system and other devices such as image, text and
voices.[10]

It’s phase to describe the requirement developed by the engineer, depend
on customers, environment and technical community, also this section
present the link between engineering requirement and Marketing
Requirements and how it’s been converted.

4. System Structure

This phase will present the levels of project starting from 0 to 1, providing
all components been used and the components that available in the market
does not need to break it down more because it’s available in the market.
