Exam Instructions:
1. This individual practical examination is good for 90 minutes.
2. The students are tasked to create two (2) materials in this examination:
a. The first is a descriptive video essay giving their own insights into a specific topic. The video length should be at
minimum three (3) minutes and five (5) minutes at maximum. To provide you with a brief background of a
descriptive video essay, it is an essay in the form of a video in which the author discusses one’s account of a
particular experience. This enables the author to share their feelings creatively, so make sure to exhibit your
artistic freedom when doing this practical examination.
b. The second is a one-page video essay outline in PDF. The outline is a rough breakdown of the video essay.
3. For the video’s topic, the class should be divided into five (5) groups, each representing a specific topic for each member
to work on. Despite the groupings, this is still an individual examination.
a. Social Class and Class Struggle
b. Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Gender Expression
c. Race, Racism, and Appropriation
d. Consumption of Popular Culture
e. Popular Culture and Audience Appeal
4. Allow the groups to choose which topic they will work on. Once all groups have chosen their topics, remind them to work
on them individually. A sample of the video outline is found below.
5. Both the video and the outline shall be submitted in the eLMS.
6. This exam shall be graded using the rubric below:
