Technology in the health sector and the child population

Technology has been so tightly integrated into healthcare delivery systems over the
last two decades that few doctors can picture a day without needing the computer or
the network. Two aspects of medical practice have been most affected. Computer
technology has transformed: the
acquisition and the preservation of
electronic medical records, as well
as healthcare accessibility and
quick transmission information
across the Internet. This month's
edition of two pieces from writers
who grew up are featured in the
journal. In this day and age of
information technology. Their
familiarity and knowledge is hardly
unexpected given the technology,
but their abilities to recognize and debate some of the ethical issues and risks
associated with implementing IT in a career centered on human connection is
unquestionably appealing and commendable.

IT must thus be used as a tool subject to medical goals, and evaluated in terms of
whether it helps or hinders the achievement of these medical goals. This standardizing
will also address the issue of whose benefit is more important. Medicine is a profession
dedicated to protecting and enhancing the lives of patients. The implications are so
self-evident; the strategy must be patient-centered, rather than just for the
convenience of healthcare practitioners or managers.

Just as technology is widely used in medicine, it is also one of the causes of many
diseases today like the use of technological devices excessively especially when it is
not really necessary and is only used as a hobby specially on children.
Digital technology usage has been linked to inattention, aggressive behavior, physical
inactivity, obesity, and sleep issues in preschool and school-age children. Overuse of
modern technology causes youngsters to waste time. Concerns should also be raised
about the cognitive and emotional consequences that these technologies have on the
development of children. In community-based studies, excessive use of technology in
early children has been linked to cognitive, linguistic, and social/emotional deficits.

In conclusion, technology can be of great help to the health sector, but it is a serious
problem in terms of the damage it is doing to children's health.
We cannot deny that it has facilitated daily activities but also exposes us to serious
physical, mental and emotional health problems which in children is a serious problem
since they are in a stage of growth where adequate health is fundamental so that it can
be carried out.
