Filipino Value System

Background information for learners:

Filipino values are a collective term for the shared assumptions and beliefs of the Filipino’s,
which influence their response to facts, events, and situations of the life and affects the
attitudes of business constituents, like: management, employees, etc. Filipino values serve as
Filipinos’ lenses on how they appreciate the issues around them. To appreciate Filipino culture,
begin with their culture. The Filipino value system inform and influence how we work and live.
Discover who we really are and explore opportunities to live and work with us. If you want
Filipinos to become effective, there is no need to supplant Filipino values with western values.

Learning Competencies:
ABM_ESR12-IIIe-h-2.3 MELC: Analyze simple business situations as they are affected by the
filipino value system and recommend ways of confronting ethical challenges in the business
setting.
