Suggestions on how to determine individuals involved:

• Determine who all the stakeholders are, which third parties need access,
who is a good contact for setting that up with each party, what type of
connection they need, and what they plan to do with it?

• Consider those coming in from the outside to support these systems and
consider any benefits from this activity to be remote.

• Consider who may be required in an emergency.

Best Practice: Identify all potential users

It is crucial to identify all the potential individuals or functions

that could use Remote Access to gain insight into the applications
and methods required for these individuals to take advantage
of this technology. By identifying all potential users and their
responsibilities you can frame the requirements required to
perform activities on the targeted devices. It may not be practical to
address all activities at once but it is important to identify as many
as possible at the start.

2.3 Create a list of target devices and assets to be supported

Workgroup Assessment
The third part of your assessment should be to identify the equipment
and systems, whether mechanical or electrical, that could require remote
support. This is an integral and fundamental step towards the development
of a complete plan. There can be hundreds, if not thousands of devices,
that could require some support from an expert. These assets may or may
not be connected to a LAN. Older equipment may be completely isolated
but should be considered as the likelihood of issues or failures are more
significant with these systems.
