Along time ago,in a small village near the beach in west Sumatra,lived a diligent boy,name Malin

Kundang,he lived in the seashore with his mother,his mother was single parent because malin’s father
had pass away when he was baby,they were very poor,M.alin Kundang had to live hard with his
mother,he usually went to sea to th some fish and sold it to fillfull his small family’s needs.

One day a big ship closed the beach near the village,that’s made peoples interested to see it,they asked
peoples to join their ship and went to the ross island,one of them ame out from the ship and started
speeh with loudly…..

‘’for everyone here,for every peoples in this village,especially for poor families,if you wanna go to the
cross island for get a better job and improve your live,THIS IS YOUR OCCASION!!!!,just join our ship and
we will change your live,come on we don’t have a lot time here..,just choose your ship and go into our
ship.’’

Malin interested to join with them,he wanted to improve his small family’s live,but his mother didn’t
permit him,she worried with Malin.

Mother: don’t are it Malin,just do what we usually do.

Malin:but,mom,I think it an be our occasion,our way to improve our live,and if you permit me,i’ll make it
uPraid and

Mother:NO,MALIN!!,just following me,don’t you knoe if it isn’t same and good as you know,Malin,I am
afraid to lost my lovely person one again,so please don’t go and stay here with me.

Malin:mom,if that your reason,I’ll promise to you,promise to back and make you proud,trust me,
mom,please….

Mother:fine If that what do you want,I’ll permit you,but one you have to remember,you have to bak
malin..,you have to never forgot me,our village to..

Malin:yes,I’ll never,I’ll never forgot you mom,our village to,I promise…

Mother:day after dnow, you can go,I’ll always sendmy pray for you,for our goodness,for us,see you son..

Finally,after all of his flatteries and promises to his mother,Malin has permited to join the big ship and
went to the cross island.

Day after day,month after month,season by season has ended,bur there isn’t one more information
about malin,that’s made his mother and sad.

Until……

Oneday a unknown big ship closed beach near the village,that’s made peoples interested to see it,a
handsome men and a pretty girl came out from the ship,an literally,they are Malin and his beautiful
wife,after knew it,with quickly,Malin’s mother approached them and stand in front of her lovely son and
say…
Mother:oh my god,is this you Malin?,my lovely son,iam waiting so long for you,why you aren’t send me
any information…

Malin’s Wife:um…,my husband,who is she?,is she your mother?,I never tough if the rich trader like you
is have a poor mother like her.

Malin:no,she isn’t,and you !!!,who are you?,you aren’t my mother,and I never felt I have any relation
with you,so get off my face !!

Mother:I am your mother malin!!,how you can forgot me,what was happened with you,malin..

Malin:can’t you hear me,go away,you’re not my mother,annoying!!!

Malin did’nt admit that poor woman is his mother,then he kicked her and made his mother very
broken hearth,with tears in her eyes,Malin’s mother awake and with sadly and disappointed to Malin
and cursed him to be stone.

Mother:(with crying)is this all that I get from you my son,my hearth feels so hurt,very hurt Malin!!ith the
name of god i curse you to be stone!!

Suddenly,the big strom was created,drowned Malin’s big ship and his crews to,slowly,Malin felt his
body clumsy and he is realized if he cursed and then he say…

Malin:no!!!Mom,please forgive me!!!i promise that I’ll be your good son,and never leave you again
mom…

Mother:it is too late to say it,sorry.

And then,Malin became a stone,stiff,hearthless,and never live again…

From the story above we can take lesson if we have to always devoted to our parents and never make
hurt them.
