UNDERSTANDING THE SELF

MODULE 7: UNFOLDING THE EMERGING FACETS OF THE SELF

NAME: Francis Adolf C. Olivaria GRADE & SECTION: BETECH-CET 1A

ESSAY

As citizens of this nation, we ought to participate in political events, especially since I and the
majority of the people I know have reached the legal voting age. Being wise is also important. Being
someone who is intelligent, courageous, and passionate for this nation serves as an example for us
Filipinos, and we hold them in high regard.

As a resident of the democratic nation of the Philippines. I have always believed that both our
culture and our political system are completely free. But i am completely mistaken. When I watched the
previous election, I saw a lot of people hoping to make this country great once more by choosing the
most qualified candidate, but this will only be a pipe dream for the majority of Filipinos, who are naive
and ignorant enough to support someone who is simply insufficiently qualified and unfit to serve as
leader of our society and nation.

I find it unfortunate to think that most of us lack intelligence and would be willing to trade their
children's futures for a piece of blue paper money, but this lesson has taught us that we should take an
active role in our communities instead. Politics should be practiced, and when making decisions, we
should consider not only our own interests but also those of everyone else. It is quite handy for us to act
evilly since it is simple, yet doing so would only add fuel to the fire and could ultimately burn you.
Additionally, as an engaged citizen, I am aware of how unfortunate it is that the majority of Filipinos live
and work in poverty. However, just a small percentage of people labor honestly, therefore we ought to
follow their example. The beginning of a disadvantaged community is a corrupt government official.
Despite the fact that the Philippines is inherently wealthy, these selfish individuals have wrecked our
nation, much like termites have done to beautiful wood.

It is quite comfortable for us to claim that we deserve a better country, but in the end, we would
become deaf, mute, and blind and act less despite still being aware that real harm is taking place.
