DAILY LESSON LOG OF STEM_PC11T-IIc-1 (Week Three-Day Two)

School Grade Level Grade 11

Teacher Learning Area Precalculus
Teaching Date and Time Quarter Second
Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standards. To meet the
objectives, necessary procedures must be followed and if needed, additional lessons, exercises and
remedial activities may be done for developing content knowledge and competencies. These are
I. OBJECTIVES assessed using Formative Assessment Strategies. Valuing objectives support the learning of content and
competencies and enable children to find significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly objectives
shall be derived from the curriculum guides.
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of the key concepts of circular functions,
trigonometric identities, inverse trigonometric functions, and the polar coordinate
system.
B. Performance Standards The learner is able to formulate and solve accurately situational problems involving
circular functions.
Learning Competency:
Determine the domain and range of the different circular functions
(STEM_PC11T-IIc-1)
C. Learning Competencies/ Learning Objectives:
Objectives 1. Determine the domain of cotangent, secant and cosecant function.
2. Determine the range of cotangent, secant and cosecant function.
3. Manifest cooperative learning in finding the domain and range of secant,
cosecant and cotangent function.
II.CONTENT Trigonometry

These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that
pupils/students will learn well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the pupils/ students
which you can infer from formative assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing
IV. PROCEDURES pupils/students with multiple ways to learn new things, practice the learning, question their learning
processes, and draw conclusions about what they learned in relation to their life experiences and
previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each step.
A. Review previous lesson Recall the domain and range of the sine, cosine and tangent functions
or presenting the new
lesson
B. Establishing a purpose The teacher lets the students realize that determining the domain and range of
for the lesson circular functions are essential in sketching their graph.
Individual Activity
Let the students complete the table below.

E. Discussing new We know that cscx = if sinx ≠ 0, sec x= and cotx= . Using this
concepts and practicing sinx cosx tanx
new skills #2 relationship, we can determine the domain and range of y = csc x, y=secx and
y=cotx.
F. Developing mastery Group Activity.
Divide the class into 6 groups. Each group is tasked to create a table of values of
their assigned function from 0 to 2 π .
(leads to formative
Group 1 & 4 – secant function
assessment 3)
Group 2 & 5 – cosecant function
Group 3 & 6 – cotangent function
The following questions will be raised to each group and to the class.
G. Finding practical 1. Is your assigned function defined to all real numbers of x? If no, give the
applications of concepts interval.
and skills in daily living 2. Is your assigned function defined to all real numbers of y? If no, give the
interval.
Complete the table below.
