INTRODUCTION
In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Education (DepEd) guarantees
that every student has access to strong student leadership so they can develop 21st-century
lifelong learning skills. DepEd Order No. 034 was so issued by the Department. elections will be
held at the school level from September 4 through September 17, according to the School
Calendar and Activities for School Year 2022–2023 of 2022.
The Department issues the Interim Guidelines on Student Government and Other School
Organizations' Elections for School Year 2022-2023 under the New Normal in an effort to
continue developing learners' leadership potential and instilling in them a passion for service
with the proper guidance of their teachers and other school staff.
In order to effectively support learner growth and adapt to various situations during this
epidemic, schools must facilitate student government elections and other pertinent activities as
DepEd supports student leadership.
OBJECTIVES
ACTIVITIES
The Supreme Student Government (SSG) elections were held after a homeroom class
organization election by the grade level advisers. When a student wants to run for office, they
must first file a certificate of candidacy (COC), and a committee must then examine their election
application. The Supreme Student Government Coordinator then announces the elections and
the program of events for the Supreme Student Government (SSG). After that, the election has
already been prepared with the consolidation and printing of election materials and release of
the candidates' final list. Every party had elections and a campaign period in the campus, when
the president and vice-president would engage in discussion and explain their plans to the
students and the institution. Following that, delivery of election-related materials by grade level
to conduct the election.
The grade level classroom made the proper election. The official list of the newly elected
SSG officials for the school year, signed and proclaimed by the COMELEC Adviser and confirmed
by the School Head, will be produced by the COMELEC after validating the official results. The
newly elected officers must collect and complete the Oath Taking Form that will be sent by the
class adviser of the elected candidate, as authorized by the COMELEC, in order to make their
commitments effective. Additionally, it represents their commitment to the institutions. The
COMELEC will compile all completed Oath Taking Forms and other pertinent documents
connected to the just completed SSG elections when it consolidates election documents.
