ALSA CONFERENCE PHILIPPINES 2023

Greetings
Greetings and welcome to Mock GCM! My name is (your name) as the (your position at IB) In
this breakout room, I will be acting as the President of the ALSA International Board as the
Chairperson who moderates the Mock GCM and you may also reach me for assistance via private
chat.

The following discussions are open for all ALSA members as this breakout room is a safe space
for you to deliver your thoughts. I remind all of you to be active and contributive as I will select
the 1 best group & 1 best participant in this breakout room.

 Introduction to the First Topic
Based on ALSA Positive Laws, to choose the international event host, each NC who is interested
to host can do a bidding presentation in the Governing Council Meeting. The ALSA Conference
is one of the international events. Here, each group will act as the National Chapter that is willing
to bid for the ALSA Conference. Each group will be given 7 minutes for a presentation and 5
minutes for a QnA session (if more than that, the presentation and QnA will be stopped).
Subsequently, the chairperson will assess and choose the best group that will be announced in
awarding session on the last day of the ALSA Conference.

1st Group Presentation

I believe all group has read the guidelines and prepared for their presentation. So, let’s start with
the first group presentation:

1st Case Closing

Alright, that would be the end of the 1st case presentation and QnA session. I want to confirm again
that the best group and best participant will be announced on the last day of the ALSA Conference
in awarding session. Now let’s take a little break before we continue to the next agenda.

Introduction to the Second Topic

We shall now enter the second topic of this Mock GCM. After selecting a new international event
host, in the middle of the event preparation, the selected NC host seems uncontactable. At the
bidding session, they propose a very clear and creative idea, but they turn out to lose their working
commitment. It is very hard for the International Board to keep in touch and look up to their
updates as the event will be carried out very soon.

So, there are three questions that we will need to discuss one by one. Now, we are going to start
with the first question:
1. What are the best ways to maintain a relationship between the International Board
and the National Chapter host?
