SITUATION:
Being an influential person among social media users, you are talking on air about different
issues that are happening in the country. You are inviting resource speakers on your show
that have expertise on these problems. One of the things that you are deeply passionate
about is the protection of our nature. You want to invite a firm advocate of environmental
protection in the Philippines to talk about the issue. These are the questions that you would
like to raise:
What are the different environmental issues that we currently face? Can you tell
something about these?
What could be the underlying causes to these problems?
Does our culture have a significant influence on these problems? If so, what are these
cultural practices and values, and in what way are they contributary to these issues?
How will we challenge these cultural practices and values that make negative impacts
on our environment?
As moral agents, what practices and values should we possess and do to contribute
to the preservation and conservation of nature in the country? How are these possible?
What is the role of our emotions and rationality to become stewards of God’s creations?
Will the actions we take today be enough to forestall the direct impacts of these
environmental problems? Or is it too late?
What should be the ethical standpoint of every Filipino about our environment?
