Consumer Behavior with Marketing Insight
Consumer Decision-making Experience
As a conscious spender, I tend to evaluate and control my purchase decisions since I don't have
any income and rely on my allowance. So, upon reading the module it has come to my
understanding that I follow the generic model of consumer behavior problem solving.
My example for this would be me feeling hungry and I went to food square to buy my lunch.
1. Problem Recognition
The problem I encountered was my emotion which was feeling hungry and the solution I found for
it is to buy foods.
2. Search for alternative Solutions
I tried to look at food stalls like Darlynn's, Kulpy Chicken, Jefcee's, Dream Cafe, and Chef Aldwyn's
as choices for the food I want.
3. Evaluation of Alternatives
At that time that I wanted a snack, so not all of them had the specific food I was going for. I had to
evaluate which stall I will decide to buy my food considering my criteria which includes how it can
make me full, the price, and the serving.
4. Purchase
After evaluation of my alternatives, I ended up with buying a Chicken Burger from Chef Aldwyn’s
with a price of 65 pesos.
5. Post-purchase use and reevaluation of chosen alternative
During the purchase, it helped me relieve my hunger which was the most important aspect of all
and it also fit the personal criteria I made (how it can make me full, the price, and the serving). The
burger was delicious, affordable, and very fitting for its price. With this, I can guarantee that I would
buy the burger again.
