in Secondary Education Major in English students from first year to fourth year of the
West Visayas State University-Janiuay Campus in modular learning. A total of 134
Teacher Education students served as respondents to the study. The data were
gathered using the researcher-made instrument duly validated by experts in the field.
Mean and standard deviation were utilized as descriptive statistics and the data
gathered in this study was subjected to appropriate statistical tools using the Statistical
Package for Social Sciences software (SPSS). Results revealed that the keyword method
to enhance memory for definitions of certain words was ranked to be the first of the
most common learning strategies employed by English major students in the modular
learning. Lastly, the English Major Students from First year to Fourth year of the West
Visayas State University-Janiuay Campus in the time of Pandemic S.Y. 2021-2022 have
“high level of motivation” in modular learning.
