PRESIDENTS
College Student Councils,
Student Organizations, &
Central Student Government
This University & Satellite Campuses

Dear Presidents,

Greetings of Peace and Solidarity!

The Central Student Government (CSG), as the highest student governing body of the Cavite
State University - Don Severino de las Alas Campus, is an enthusiastic advocate for education
and dissemination of knowledge; we stand for a democratic and mass-oriented education that
favors the student body. We are writing to bring forth a matter that we believe requires the
attention and consideration of the College Student Councils, Student Organizations, and CSG
Satellite Campuses regarding the recent publicization of the guest speakers slated for the
upcoming commencement ceremonies.

With the recent publicization of the guest speakers slated for the upcoming commencement
ceremonies, we've taken note of a pronounced negative reaction emanating from the broad
spectrum of students spanning all faculties and levels within the university. This widespread
sentiment has given us considerable pause. Our commitment has always been to ensure that our
ceremonies resonate with the expectations and aspirations of our student body. Consequently,
our dismay over the current list of guest speakers is rooted in our firm belief that the selections
should reflect the caliber and values our students rightfully deserve.

In connection with this concern, we humbly ask you to join the unified letter condemning Imee
Marcos and other traditional politicians with a history of corruption and unlawful acts, a call to
action to the CvSU Administration to condemn the questionable guest speakers. This is a
request to change the current slate and/or invite speakers that are far more credible, and
transparency upon what were the criteria for choosing the invited speakers for the 112th
commencement exercises of Cavite State University - Main Campus and Satellite Campuses.
Through this unified letter, we, the Iskolar ng Bayan, seek to foster a sense of solidarity among
the academic community, ensuring that the concerns are not only acknowledged but also
effectively addressed.

We hope that this letter finds you in good health. We are hoping for your positive response and
prompt action about this matter. Thank you for your participation.

With the Kabsuhenyos,

ANGELO C. PADUA
Senator for Student Organizations and External Affairs
