The application of methodological approaches, novel molecular biology and analytical methods
in molecular ecology
Molecular and adaptive variation in time and space
Practical applications of molecular ecology research.

Weeks 6-10 (Computer labs and Seminars)


Computer labs: Problem solving tasks with the application of computer programs and analytical
approaches used in molecular ecology
Seminars: Presentation and discussion of scientific articles related to molecular ecology
research

Module aim
1. To familiarize students with the application of molecular ecology in studies of genetic
variation at the population level and genetic markers development
2. To familiarize students with the application of molecular ecology in evolutionary studies of
species adaptive variation and population history
3. To familiarize students with the application of analytical methods and novel molecular biology
approaches in molecular ecology
4. To familiarize students with theoretical assumptions and computational approaches used in
molecular ecology research
5. To familiarize students with top examples of molecular ecology studies based on published
research articles
