    A cytogenetics karyotyping test was performed on a bone marrow sample from a 76-year-old male patient with acute myeloid leukemia. 20 metaphase cells were analyzed and 5 were karyotyped, which showed a normal male karyotype of 46,XY with no numerical or structural abnormalities detected. Microdeletions and other minor chromosomal changes may not be detectable by this method. The doctor is advised to correlate the test results with the patient's clinical and hematological findings.
