ATMOSPHERE
The atmosphere is a layer of gases that surrounds a planet or celestial body. It is held in
place by the planet's gravitational pull and plays a vital role in supporting life and
regulating climate. Earth's atmosphere primarily consists of nitrogen, oxygen, carbon
dioxide, and trace amounts of other gases.
NATURAL RESOURCES
OXYGEN: Oxygen is a gas that makes up about 21% of Earth's atmosphere. It is vital
for respiration, combustion, and various biological processes.

NITROGEN: Nitrogen is the most abundant gas in Earth's atmosphere, making up

about 78% of it. It is an essential element for life and plays a crucial role in the
structure and function of proteins and DNA.

CARBON DIOXIDE: Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas comprising a small fraction

(about 0.04%) of Earth's atmosphere. It is a byproduct of respiration, combustion, and
various natural processes.

WATER VAPOR: Water vapor is the gaseous form of water present in the
atmosphere. It plays a crucial role in the Earth's water cycle, weather patterns, and
climate regulation.

BIOSPEHERE
The biosphere is the zone of the Earth where life exists. It encompasses all living
organisms, their interactions with each other and with the physical environment. It
includes various ecosystems, such as forests, oceans, grasslands, and deserts, which
support a wide array of plant and animal life.
FOREST: Forests are ecosystems dominated by trees, encompassing a variety of
tree species, as well as understory vegetation, wildlife, and microorganisms.

vegetation, such as grasses, shrubs, herbs, and trees.

birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and invertebrates.

within the biosphere, including the genetic, species, and ecosystem diversity.

HYDROSPHERE
The hydrosphere refers to the total amount of water on Earth, including water found on
the surface (such as oceans, rivers, lakes, and glaciers), underground (as
groundwater), and in the atmosphere (as water vapor). It plays a vital role in supporting
life, regulating climate, and shaping Earth's landscapes.

OCEAN AND SEAS: Oceans and seas are large bodies of saltwater that cover the
majority of the Earth's surface, comprising interconnected basins.

standing water, respectively.

within saturated soil or rock layers known as aquifers.

LITHOSPHERE
The lithosphere is the rigid outer layer of the Earth, consisting of the Earth's crust and
the uppermost part of the mantle. It is composed of solid rocks, minerals, and soil, and it
encompasses the Earth's landmasses, oceanic crust, and the underlying structures.
MINERALS: Minerals are naturally occurring inorganic substances with a specific
chemical composition and crystal structure.
