PART I: Read the paragraph below. What is it about?

Mike loves to cook. He cooks all kinds of dishes, but his favourite dishes are desserts. He can bake big,
beautiful cakes with fruit or with chocolate. Mike says cooking is very relaxing. When he is working in the
kitchen, he thinks only about cooking. He doesn’t think about work or bad things. On Sundays, Mike has
lots of time for cooking. He makes a very good dinner and a special dessert. Then, he and his family have
a good meal.

Now, cover the paragraph and retell your partner what you remember from the text.

opposite way. This means that they sleep all day and stay awake at night. This means they have to eat
at night, but finding food in the dark is difficult. To help them, they have special eyes and ears. Owls
have very large eyes. These eyes take in more light than normal because there is little light during the
night. This helps owls find food in the dark. Owls also have very good hearing. When owls are in the
trees, they can hear small animals moving in the grass below. This helps owls catch their prey such as
mice and small insects even when it is very dark.
