ALUMINUM 6061 AND A STEEL A36 SO5- teamwork

FOR A TV SUPPORT: CHARPY

Objectives
• Work as a team to determine which material is better for a tv support
• Determine the tensile strength of booth Aluminum 6061 and steel A36
with universal test.
• Analyze the energy absorb of the material after the Charpy test and
compare the results with my teammate
• Compare prices of both materials

Methodology
1.Release the hammer 6.Take note of the final angle and
FIGURE 1: TV SUUPORT 2.Get the samples calculated the energy absorbed
3.Mark the samples for the testing
4.Get the hammer of the Charpy ready SAFETY EQUIMENT
to the angle wanted
• Lab coat
Teamwork 5.Place the sample
• Safety glasses
• Charpy test - 165577 • Security boats
• UNIVERSAL TEST – 172350
After both test were made we both share our results and determine that the
Steel A36 is better suited for a Tv support.
We believe that we each had a the same roll on this team since we were only
the two of us, therefor making easier to get things done and therefore there
were not problem with the organization of the tests that had to be done.

Conclusion DIAGRAM

✓ We assign each team member a task

✓ We recognize what are the safety issues before making the tests and plan what to do before making the
experiment.
✓ We accomplish each task assign (165577 Charpy test, 172350 Universal test)
✓ We share with each other the results we got from each test
✓ Conclude that the steel A36 is better suited for a tv support
