Face-to-face learning included
While the Distance Learning MBA is studied
primarily online, the course is distinguished
by the inclusion of residential weeks.
Depending on the programme you have
enrolled on, these will take place at either
our Warwick campus or at WBS London,
located at the iconic Shard building. You
will meet your fellow students, discuss case
studies, listen to guest speakers, and enjoy
lectures and thought-provoking discussions
with faculty and your cohort. Your study
groups will be limited in numbers, to ensure
that everyone can join in the discussion.

As part of the Warwick Business School

flexibility in mind. This means that when
your job needs to take precedence for a
while you can choose to slow down or take a
break of up to two years before continuing

Distance Learning MBA in two to four years

What your programme will look like
The programme
For our students, learning isn’t confined by
physical walls. They embrace independent
learning, and have a thirst for knowledge, that
drives them to find solutions.
As part of our Distance Learning MBA
January intake, you will undertake eight
required modules, your choice of four electives,
and a dissertation. Each of the 12 modules
should take approximately 100 hours, which
typically includes a minimum of 27 hours of
structured teaching (live teaching and online
learning/support) and the remainder made up
of guided online study and independent
self-study.

During your two residential weeks, which

with an introduction and welcome video from
the module leader, providing you with an
overview of which topics will be covered.
For four of the required modules and all of
the distance learning electives there will be a
range of live online teaching sessions. These
may be lectures, guest speaker sessions,
seminars or focused revision sessions.
Every session is recorded and available to view
later at a time convenient to you.
For the four required modules that run in the
residential week, we will provide teaching
on campus which is supplemented by online
teaching.
On my.wbs you will also be able to test
yourself with multiple choice quizzes and
receive immediate feedback to keep your
learning on track. You will work with your
group online and take part in a WBS built
simulation where you can complete tasks as if
solving real life company issues.
Additionally, where modules have a core
textbook, you will have access to it online via
your VitalSource digital bookshelf, providing
you with immediate access.
my.wbs is built to be compatible with any
type of device, all you will need is an internet
connection and an up-to-date browser to
access learning materials. It is recommended
that you use headphones, a microphone and a
webcam to contribute to webinars.

Your eight required modules are taught online and during your residential weeks.
Depending on the programme location you have chosen, this will either be on campus at
Warwick or at WBS London. Your required modules will be taught through a combination
of bespoke authored text, lectures, seminars, plus group and networking activities.

We have a scholarship fund available to
self-funding candidates admitted onto our
Distance Learning MBA. Our scholarship
offering has been designed to promote
excellence and diversity within each class,
