1.1 Visual: 18 Social: 12 Physical: 11 Aural: 16 Verbal: 6 Solitary: 9 Logical: 10

This indicates my learning style is mainly a combination of Visual Aural and physical
learning.

1.2 At Westerford it mainly depends on the teacher and the way they teach. Most teachers at
school cater to most learning styles, especially mine. The learning environment does work
for me some classes more than others but all in all the environment is great.

4.1 The ability to understand, use and manage one's own emotions in positive ways.

4.2 I do not think that either is more important than the other. Every human needs both EQ
and IQ for different aspects of life and in order to function as a member of society. You can't
just be a people person and not intelligent and you can't be super intelligent but have no
people skills.

4.3 Yes, sometimes I do get stressed that I may make the wrong decision that will
compromise my future. There is a fine line between doing what you love and doing what is
important. This makes it very difficult to have a balance of both.

Reason for referral.

Zen has been suffering from stress recently due to the upcoming subject choices at his
school and the fact that he has been struggling in various subjects. He has been needing
someone to talk to in order to calm him down.

Background information.

Zen's father is Dr Jody Rusch, a chemical pathologist at Groote Schuur hospital. His mother
is Mrs Chantel Rusch, a preschool teacher at Squirrels Leap Montessori school. His records
state that he reached all his development milestones at the appropriate ages. Zen was not
shy as a child and was very outgoing and playful. Zen says his relationship with his parents
is very good and they talk all the time. Zen says that his parents inspire him but he is not
planning on following in their footsteps. He is instead going to carve his own path with their
advice and motivation. Zen does share interests with his parents but does not enjoy
everything his parents enjoy and visa versa.

Learning style.

Zen's learning style is mainly a combination of the visual and kinaesthetic learning styles.
Visual learning is a style of learning where the learner prefers processing information from
visual sources while kinesthetic learning is a style of learning where the learner prefers to
process information from touch, tactile and physical sources. His learning style makes him
very flexible and adaptable to various classroom situations.

Personality.

Zen has the type ENTP (E(62%) N(9%) T(9%) P(19%)) personality. His colour is Red or
Yellow. His personality fits well with the research results. He is innovative, individualistic,
versatile, and analytical. His role as a motivator fits his attitude and the way he does
things. He prefers a flexible and change oriented work environment. He prefers intuition and
thinking over sensing and feeling.he is good at communicating and is an optimist.
Career exploration.

Zen wants to study to become a Robotics engineer. He wishes to specialise in

nanotechnology that can be used in many different ways to change the world. He enjoys
working with machines, algorithms and maths which is what interests him in this field of
work. This job entails hard work and many hours but Zen claims he is more than ready for
this challenge.

Emotional intelligence.

Zen is better than average at recognising emotions. He does get confused between some
similar ones but all in all he agrees with the majority of the answers given. He does think that
some of the answers do not make sense to him. Otherwise he agrees and believes that he
does have some flaws in recognising emotions.

Maximising his future.

Zen needs to study hard and stay focused in order to make a comfortable future for himself.
He must waste less time and focus more on honing skills that will be useful in the future. He
must create an environment for himself devoid of stress in order to be comfortable in his
studies. To create this environment he must keep his friends and family close in order to
have a positive influence on him. This will allow him to have a positive atmosphere as he
pursues his dreams.

Predictions.

Zen believes that by the age of 25 he will have a stable job and will be able to start his
important research in nanotechnology. He believes he will still enjoy most of the hobbies he
loves now. I agree with all of these predictions and I believe that Zen has a bright future
ahead of him.
