Ticket FAQ’s for ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023

1. When will ticket sales begin for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023?

Online ticket sales will commence from 24 August 2023, as outlined below:

Exclusive pre-sale windows for Mastercard holders


24 August from 6 PM IST: All Non-India event matches excluding warm-up games.
29 August from 6 PM IST- All India matches excluding warm-up games.
14 September from 6 PM IST Semi Finals and Final.

General Public Sale Dates:

25 August from 8 PM IST: Non-India Warm-Up matches and all non-India event matches
30 August from 8 PM IST: India matches at Guwahati and Trivandrum
31 August from 8 PM IST: India matches at Chennai, Delhi and Pune
1 September from 8 PM IST: India matches at Dharamsala, Lucknow and Mumbai
2 September from 8 PM IST: India matches at Bengaluru and Kolkata
3 September from 8 PM IST: India match at Ahmedabad
15 September from 8 PM IST: Semi-Finals and Final

Up to two tickets per person may be purchased in the Exclusive Mastercard pre-sale windows and for all India matches,
the two semifinals and the final.

Up to four tickets per person may be purchased for all other matches.

2. How do I buy tickets?

Tickets may only be purchased online via the official ticket sales website accessible though
https://tickets.cricketworldcup.com/ for tickets as part of a tour and travel package, via officially authorized travel agents.

The presale window is only open to Mastercard holders (both international and within India) and transactions may only
be completed using a valid Mastercard. The presale window will be open for 24 hours only for each phase of ticketing.

Up to two tickets per person may be purchased in the Exclusive Mastercard pre-sale windows and for all India matches,
the two semifinals and the final. Up to four tickets per person may be purchased for all other matches.

Unless a ticket is marked as valid for an area of free seating in a venue, each ticket will be strictly valid only for the seat
specified on the ticket.
The sales portal will operate on a first come first served basis and a queuing system will be in operation during times of
high traffic.

Whilst in the queue, do not navigate away from the holding page or click refresh or back on your browser as this will lose
your place in the queue.

For customers in India, the default option will be for tickets to be delivered to your home, therefore a valid address will
be required. Indian customers may select the option to collect tickets from designated box offices.

International customers will need to collect their tickets in India from designated box offices.

Tickets can be paid for using all major debit and credit cards as well as online payment systems.
Ticket Collection

Tickets will be available for collection in designated box offices in each host city. Box offices will open 7 days prior to the
first match in that city.

Valid identification as well as the credit or debit card used to make the booking will need to be presented in order to
collect tickets.

3. How can I pay for tickets?

Tickets may only be purchased online via the official ticket sales website accessible through
https://tickets.cricketworldcup.com / using debit and credit cards and online payment options or for tickets as part of a
tour and travel package, via officially authorized travel agents.

There will be no box office sales at match venues.

4. How many tickets can one buy per transaction?

Up to two tickets per person may be purchased in the Exclusive Mastercard pre-sale windows and for all India matches,
the two semifinals and the final. Up to four tickets per person may be purchased for all other matches.

5. How can I purchase tickets from outside of India?

Tickets may only be purchased online via the official ticket sales website accessible though
https://tickets.cricketworldcup.com using debit and credit cards and online payment options or for tickets as part of a
tour and travel package, via officially authorized travel agents.

6. Can I buy the tickets from the stadiums?

No, there will be no box offices selling tickets at match venues.

Venue box offices will only be utilized for collection of tickets purchased online.

7. What are the opening hours for the ticket Box Office?

Ticket pickup counters in the local city of the host venue will be confirmed and communicated at a later date.

8. Can I contact the ticket office by phone?

Contact centre no. +91 022 – 61445050. For Call, there will be a dedicated queue which will say “For ICC Men’s Cricket
World Cup 2023, press 0”.

9. Who can purchase tickets?

Anyone over 16 years of age with valid identity documents and a debit or credit card or enabled online payment
mechanism can purchase tickets. For Indian nationals, a national ID card or passport will be required.

10. What types of tickets are available?

Each venue has multiple categories of tickets which are differently priced. Details of available tickets in each category will
be visible on the ticket purchase system. Tickets are strictly only valid for the seat specified on the ticket.

11. Can I just buy single match tickets for the semi-final or final only?

Yes, subject to availability.

12. At what stage can I buy tickets to the semi-finals and finals?

Tickets will be available for sale on the following dates:

25 August from 8 PM IST: Non-India Warm-Up matches and all non-India event matches.
30 August from 8 PM IST: India matches at Guwahati and Trivandrum
31 August from 8 PM IST: India matches at Chennai, Delhi, and Pune
1 September from 8 PM IST: India matches at Dharamsala, Lucknow and Mumbai
2 September from 8 PM IST: India matches at Bengaluru and Kolkata
3 September from 8 PM IST: India match at Ahmedabad

13. Do I need to buy tickets for the practice matches?

Yes. Please refer to FAQ number 1 for details

14. Will there be children's tickets?

No. There is no specific category of child tickets. All children from age 3 upwards require their own ticket.

15. Do children need tickets?

Yes. All children above 3 years of age need a ticket.

16. What if I need to change my delivery address details after I have completed a purchase online?

You cannot update your delivery address yourself once you have registered on the ticketing website. If you need to change
your delivery address, you will need to write to cwc@bookmyshow.com providing your transaction reference number
and address details.

17. How many tickets will be available to the public?


As with all major sports events, several tickets must be provided to the event sponsors. An allocation of tickets will be
made available to BCCI and ICC guests. All remaining tickets will be available to the public, whether through tour and
travel packages or individual sale via the official ticketing website accessible via https://tickets.cricketworldcup.com/

18. When will I know where I will be sitting?

There will be two types of seating – seats with specific seat numbers and areas of free seating without seat numbers
where a ticket will be valid for any seat within the specified area.

Depending on the venue and area selected, either of the above options will be displayed. If a numbered seat is selected,
then the ground layout will be displayed, and the block location of the seat will be visible. Seats in free seating areas will
be occupied on a first come first served based.

19. How do I know where my seat is when I buy the tickets?

You will be able to choose the block in which you buy your ticket and see where this is in the venue at the time of purchase.
Specific seat numbers will only be known once you receive your confirmation/physical tickets.

20. I am in a wheelchair and need my companion with me – will they get a free ticket?

No. Your companion will have to purchase a ticket as well and will be seated based on the seat number selected at the
time of purchase.

Seating for companions is provided adjacent to the areas dedicated to wheelchair viewing and is priced according to the

21. Will there be price concessions for disabled persons?

Pricing for all tickets is based on the area of the venue in which the seat is located.

22. Who set the ticket prices and how?

ICC, BCCI and Stadium Associations have mutually agreed the ticket prices which are designed to provide maximum
opportunity for fans to attend matches.

23. Are ticket prices the same regardless of which country I reside in?

Yes, the published prices are the same for everyone.

24. Can I sell or transfer my tickets?


By purchasing a ticket, you will have accepted that you will abide by the ticket terms and conditions. These terms and
conditions prohibit the on-sale of tickets. Any tickets that are identified to have been transferred or purchased in
contravention of the terms and conditions will be invalidated and the holder may not be permitted access to the venue.

25. Can I use tickets bought by someone else?

Yes, provided you obtained the tickets in accordance with the ticket terms and conditions. This means a friend can buy a
ticket for you and you can pay him for the ticket, but the exchange of tickets for commercial gain is not permitted under
the ticket terms and conditions.

26. Is it illegal to buy tickets from someone else?

No, provided you are obtaining the tickets at face value from someone you know who purchased them on your behalf.
Tickets found to have been sold for profit, on the so called 'black market,’ will be canceled in the system and the holders
of those tickets may not be permitted access to the venue.

27. Can tickets be used in a business promotion or as a prize in a competition?

No. Only official event partners may utilize tickets in any business promotion, incentive scheme, competition, or
marketing campaign, and only with the specific approval of ICC. Any tickets used in this way by any unauthorized person
or organization may face action by ICC and the tickets used in the activity will be canceled.

28. I am in Bengaluru. Can I buy tickets for matches in Dharamshala or Ahmedabad?

Yes, the online system allows access to purchase tickets for all matches irrespective of where you are located.

29. If I buy tickets but find I can’t use them, can I request a refund?

Refunds will only be offered in accordance with the refund policy which can be found via
https://tickets.cricketworldcup.com/

30. How do I know that I am dealing with a credible ticketing source?

The only official website for the purchase of tickets is via https://tickets.cricketworldcup.com/ or via an authorized tour
and travel operator.

31. Can I be certain that my credit card details will be safe and secure when paying online?

Yes. The online system has the most up-to-date technology to ensure your credit card details remain safe. The transaction
is done directly through to your bank and once the transaction is complete the ticket sales staff cannot view or access
your credit card details.

32. What is the Refund Policy?


Refunds will only be made if the match is cancelled without a single ball being bowled. No other refunds will be made,
there is no obligation on event organizer or ticketing platform to reschedule the match.

33. After purchase, can I request the tickets to be delivered to me?

No. All requests for delivery of tickets must be made at the time of purchase during the transaction, by selecting the home
delivery option.

34. Is there a cost for delivery of tickets?

Yes. This will be indicated to you at the time of purchase.

35. Will my tickets be replaced if they are lost or stolen?

Tickets will not be replaced if lost or damaged.

36. If my tickets are damaged, can I get them replaced?

Tickets will not be replaced if lost or damaged.

37. Can I use tickets as prizes in a raffle / raffle for my club / charity or to promote them in any other way?

No.

38. If I buy tickets, can I use them to market or promote my business or products that I sell?

No.

39. Do I have to pay a processing fee when I buy the tickets?

If you buy tickets online or using a credit/ debit card at a ticket office, as is normal for online transactions there will be a
small payment processing fee.

40. Where can I find a copy of the ticket conditions?

The terms and conditions are available on the official sales website (you will have to acknowledge and accept them to
complete a purchase of tickets).

An abbreviated version of the terms and conditions will be printed on the reverse of the physical tickets themselves.

42. What is the list of restricted items that will not be allowed inside the stadium?

List of restricted items would be as below - Bottles, lighters, cigarette, tins, cans, musical instruments, flammable, toxic,
illegal or hazardous substances, metal containers, umbrellas, sharp bank, selfie stick, wooden sticks, backpack, coins,
firecrackers or weapons are not allowed inside the stadium.

43. What is a Reserve Day?

There is a reserve day for the semi finals and final only.

If a match goes to the reserve day, tickets for the originally scheduled day will be valid.
