FLORENCE B.

AJERO BEED 1-4

1. My influences in my own development are heredity, environment and especially

situation. My heredity from my family especially my parents. My environment from my friends,
and peers also with my different friend group like classmate, childhood friends, volleyball friends
and others. With my situation also influences my development as they reflect on what I have been
through. This shows that the challenges you have faced is the result of your development. With
what I encounter everyday reflects my character and who I am with every single being that I am.
The influences you have in your life that lead you to your own development are not just pure
genetics as for my case I have notice that I have become like this as because of the people around
me and how they treat me or how they show affection or emotion with me. I adopt it and it
became my ground and my character. Also if I feel inferior once I will always feel inferior in the
same situation, if I was invalidated once I will always feel like my side of a story will always be
invalidated that I will not bother to explain. They influence me to be me, as they have been in my
environment for all my life and as I have said I adopted it growing up. And as I grow, everything
around slowly affects my actions and every single detail of my personality.

2. In the late 1950s and 1960s there is this new wonder drug that heals the nausea for
pregnant women, which cause sever birth defects to thousands of children. Even though it was
banned in countries all over the world, it was use to cure leprosy and multiple myeloma. Some of
the victims of thalidomide was interviewed to say their insight about using the drug after it got
banned. Because of the drug the victims suffered not just from being born different but also from
bullying and being orphaned by their parents since they are different. Some are less fortunate that
their own parents abandoned them after seeing what they look like while some are fortunate to
have a caring and understanding parents. The drug had a turning point from being dangerous to
being useful for some cancer patients, but they did make use of it as a way to discover new things
that is important in the biochemical pathways of limb development.
