February 2, 1543 - Villalobos
arrived in the islands of Samar
and Leyte and he named the
place La Isla Filipinas in honor of
the crown prince of spain.

THE BRITISH
RULE
October 5, 1762 - British takes over
Manila from the Spaniards starting
the crown rule.
June 11, 1764 - End British
occupation and the last of the British
ship set sail to India
