Slide 2 - Based on the text we were assigned, in writing with this kind of pattern, the
problems were usually stated at the beginning of the text while the solution followed.
This pattern of development is open to criticism from readers whose thoughts do not
match the author’s.

Slide 2 - The Indolence of the Filipinos is an essay written by Dr. Jose Rizal, our national
hero. In his essay, he pointed out the causes of why the government proceeds on
fostering and sustaining the evil they are discussing. With this problem pointed out, he
proposed a solution that proves that the indolence of the Filipinos was not the cause but
the effect. Here are some problems and their solution based on the essay.

(lipat slide 3)

Slide 3 - Solution — Improving the educational system in the Philippines is one strategy
that will aid in this situation. The establishment of high-quality education and more
schools would aid in enlightenment, resulting in more actively engaged citizens.

Slide 3 - Solution — So it is appropriate for the government to have adequate laws with
equal treatment to consumers and businessmen especially in our country.

Slide 4 - Solution - The Philippines must deliver their product and distribute it as widely
as possible so that, if a prejudicial measurement is authorized, no one will try to object
and we won't notice a lack of national sentiment until after the harm has already been
done.

Slide 4 - Solution — It was said in the statement that it is important that those who sit in
the government should be a good example to the people, not like what the friars and
leaders did in the past who were the initiators in spreading it.
This essay was made by Dr. Jose Rizal and it uses a formal tone, precise language, and was
also organized. This excerpt was organized by stating the problem in the beginning and the
causes of it and then followed by the solutions. It also manifests a third-person point of view.

The narrator isn't a character in the story. It aimed at the person or people being talked about
and used the third-person pronoun, he.

The problem of indolence, which is a corollary derived from the lack of stimulus and vitality,
claims that the key issues that need to be addressed are the limited training and education that
Filipino natives receive, as well as the lack of national sentiment and unity among them, for
which the solution will be education and liberty. Its unique characteristic among the other
patterns of disciplines is that the author presents a discussion of his proposed solution or
solutions, which may be unique because the other disciplines like the narration, which relies
mostly on facts and avoids giving opinions.

That is all for our presentation, thank you for listening!
