MY MARYKNOLL-

MIRIAM TIMELINE

1882
In the year 1882, the founder of the
Maryknoll sisters, Mary Josephine
Rogers was born.

1920
During this year, the Maryknoll Sisters
was approved by Rome as an official
religious congregation.

1952
A couple of years after the Malabon
Normal School was established, the school
relocated to Diliman and became known
as Maryknoll College.

1989
The name Maryknoll College was
renamed into Miriam College taking
inspiration from Mary's Aramaic
name.

2007
On November 17th of 2007, I was
born into the world as an official
Christian Catholic.
2014
During this year, my parents and I
decided to enroll myself into Miriam
College for first grade.

2016
In 2016, I was tasked to storytell during
a Buwan ng Wika event. During the
celebration, I read a short story I
personally wrote focusing mainly on my
cancer journey to my batchmates.

2019
Coinciding with my interest for
sports and gymnastics, 2019 was the
year in which I auditioned to be a
part of our school's pep squad
varsity team and passed.

2033-2038
(In the future, 10-15 years from
the present time)

10 to 15 years from now, I see myself working as an

environmental architect. When I become an architect, I
plan to innovate architectural designs that are not only
functional, but are also healthy and beneficial for the
Earth. Keeping this in mind, I believe that the Miriam
College core value needed for me to achieve this is the
value of integrity of creation.
What is the importance of personal
values in attaining your goals in life?
Personally, I find that setting and having my own
personal values is what helps me determine my choices
and direction in life. I make sure that the steps I take
satisfy these personal values I have because they are
also what makes me. At the same time, I also do make
sure that these values I follow are ethical and will guide
me into becoming a better person.

How can you strengthen your personal

values and principles which are deeply
rooted in your roots and spirituality as
Miriam student?

Simply, I can strengthen my personal values and

principles by constantly practicing them. By doing this,
these values become a part of me as a whole and turn
into what will guide me through my life. Additionally, I
can say that I have strengthened my personal values
after continuously exercising them in times when I
have personal reflections of my life.

In what way can you protect and

celebrate your God-given dignity?

I believe that I can protect and celebrate my God-

given dignity by perpetually asking for the Lord's
guidance. With this, I am enlightened to make the right
choices which will conceal my dignity and furthermore
make me a better member of my community. And by
making the other members of my community feel my
practices and efforts to becoming a stewardess of God,
I can influence them into being the same and celebrate
our dignity.
