Research Methodology
Research Design

This study determined the effect of the technologies on the students in grade 10 of Notre

Dame-Siena College of Polomolok. The research design that was utilized in this study is case

study.

In phenomenology method, according to Neubauer (2019) A type of qualitative research

known as phenomenology focuses on examining people's actual experiences in the world. Many

qualitative studies and publications use the term "phenomenology" in a confusing variety and

abundance. Some believe that it simply means that a study deals with "experience," but this is

false because many other qualitative methodologies also focus on human experiences Van

Maneo, M (2017).

Research Locale

The study will take place in the Notre Dame - Siena College of Polomolok, which is

located at J Bayan St, Polomolok, South Cotabato. The Congregation of the Dominican Sisters of

St. Catherine of Siena runs the Notre Dame - Siena College of Polomolok (NDSCP), a private,

co-educational Catholic school, non-stock basic and higher education institution in Polomolok,

South Cotabato, and is a member of the Notre Dame Educational Association (NDEA).
Participants of the Study

The respondents in this study are the grade 10 students of Notre Dame-Siena College of

Polomolok Academic Year 2022-2023. A purposive sampling technique will be used to select

participants who participate in the study. The goal of this sampling method is to select

participants who have experiences relevant to the research questions and who can provide rich

and meaningful data.

Research Instrument

The interview guide questions are designed to elicit participants' personal experiences

and perspectives on how digital devices affect their academic performance. Prior to the

interview, each participant will be given a consent form and a demographic questionnaire.

another researcher.

Data Gathering Procedure

A semi-structured interview guide created by the researcher will be used to conduct the

interviews. The interview questions will be based on the study's statement of the problem. To

make certain that the questions are understandable, pertinent, and suitable for the study, the
interview guide will be put through its paces with a small group of students (focus group

discussion). With the participants' consent, the interviews will be audio recorded and verbatim

transcripted for analysis.

Thematic analysis will use inductive data analysis to identify patterns and themes within

the data collected from interviews. The analysis will consist of several steps, including

familiarization with the data, the generation of initial codes, the search for themes, the review of

themes, the definition and naming of themes, and the creation of the final report. The researcher

will conduct the analysis and the findings will be reviewed by a second researcher to ensure

reliability and validity.

Data Analysis Procedure

Thematic analysis, which involves finding patterns and themes within the data, will be

used to examine the interview data. After becoming familiar with the data, the analysis will

comprise creating preliminary codes, looking for themes, evaluating themes, defining and

labeling themes, and preparing the final report. To guarantee the authenticity and trustworthiness

of the results, it will be carried out by the researcher and verified by another researcher.
