DOCTRINE OF SIN

HAMARTIOLOGY

Hamartiology deals with how sin originated, how it affects humanity, and what it will result in
after death. To sin means to “miss the mark.” We all miss God's mark of righteousness (Romans
3:33) Hamartiology, then, explains why we miss the mark how we miss the mark and the
consequences of missing the mark. sin is described in the Bible as transgression a law of God
(1John 3:4) and rebellion against God (Deuteronomy 4:7 / Joshua 1:18)

I. The Origin

“The origin of sin into this universe. according to five key biblical passages of scripture, a
powerful angelic name Lucifer, led a wicked revolt against Jehovah God himself in an insane at
them to the throne the rightful King, the Lord Jesus Christ.” The five biblical passages
previously mentioned; (Ezekiel 28:11-19 / Isaiah 14: 12-15 / Luke 10:18 / 1 John 3:8 /
Revelation 12:3-4)

“While an angel introduced in into the universe, it was a man who invited into this world. In the
Old Testament, Moses describes the act historically, and in the New Testament, Paul describes it
theologically.” (Genesis 2:16 / Romans 5:12 / 1 Corinthians 15:22)

II. Nature Of Sin

“The nature of sin is expressed in the words which the spirit uses to describe it, every word is a
piece oh philosophy may it is a revelation.”

a. Sin is not merely the absence of good. Some teach that its darkness is merely the absence
of light seeing, sin is simply the non-presence of goodness.

b. Sin is distortion, a pewersion, abandoning of that what is right and does making it
crooked.
c. Sin must not only disguise itself as the good but must also actually connect itself to its
good. In itself it has no unifying power. Here seeing maybe likened to a virus, and the
good to a healthy cell.
d. Sin is disobedience, disrupt, unbelief, a want to response to God. All the other words we
have considered depict sin before it comes in construct with divine remedy, but the word
translated “disobedience” (Colossians 3:16) “unbelief” (Hebrew 4:6) “obey not”
(Romans 2:8) and “believe not” (Hebrew 11:31) represents man’s disobedient to God
salvation.

III. The Consequences of Sin

a. Lucifer was the first sinner; he naturally experienced the first terrible result of sin. Lost
his coveted position as heavenly anointed church (Ezekiel 28:14) and because easily
depraved design (Revelations 12:7)

b. When Adam opened the door for sin, two vicious criminals also rush in and immediately
began fermenting humanity: the physical death and spiritual death. In theology, this
means separation.

IV. The Imputation of Sin

Adam, as the head of human race, ensured every person often him to be boring into a fallen
condition or sinful state. This effect of Adam sin is known as original sin and is often referred to
us inherited a sinful nature through Adam's original act of disobedience (Romans 5:12-14). All
people who came often Adam have been credited with the guilt of Adam sin (Romans 5:18). An
imputation is an attribution in accrediting up something the penalty for sin is death.

1. Spiritual death or separation from God in this present life deal to imputed sin. (Ephesians
2:1-3) (Rev 20: 11-15)

2. Physical death it's also a penalty to the imputed sin. (Romans 5:12) (Romans 6:23)

The remedy four imputed sin is that toning work of Jesus Christ (Romans 5:19). The moment a
sinner believe in Jesus and accept the gift of salvation the righteousness of Christ is credited to
his or her account (1 Corinthians 15:22). Believers possess imputed righteousness.
V. The Reasons for Sin

God created both angels and men as intelligent creatures possessing moral natures which could
determine and choose between right and wrong. He displays his grace, God already exhibiting
the omnipresence, his omnipotence, and his omniscience. But there was one attribute, one
characteristic closer to his heart than any other, and that was his grace.

VI. Vicinity Over Sin

a. We must know where we are in Christ and what we have received in Him. We see
ourselves as alive to God-alive to the realm of God-which includes seeing that we are
fully accepted and enjoyed by God empowered to ask Jesus authority and indwelt by the
spirit. (Romans 6:11)

b. We are to resist sin save time and sin provoking circumstances. We resist the inward
prompting of sin and the schemes of Satan. (Romans 6:12-13a)

c. We pursue God by presenting ourselves to him and presenting our bodies as his
investments, that He may use us to bless others (Romans 6:13)

Thus, we must know TRUTH, RESIST darkness, and PURSUE God.
