5. Installation
When installing the blower, please take the following items, including sample installation layout
illustrations, into consideration to ensure correct installation.
Furthermore, as the blower utilizes a submersible motor, be sure to install it only under water.

Take great care to avoid dropping the blower if it is to be

suspended, carried or moved. Bad support can lead to injuries.
WARNING Also, when installing the machine in its permanent location, do
not suspend the it directly from this location. Rather, suspend
using a band or use a forklift.

① Please be careful not to soak the tip of Cabtire cable in water.

② When a tank is shallow, please make Cabtire cable the length
that can pick up a blower on a tank. You cannot take out a
blower so that Cabtire is set up if short.
③ Please hang Cabtire cable and the long part of the boost
CAUTION chain to the hook.
④ You let the bottom of the tank get loose in it, and please do
not let me come in contact with a motor The application
liquid class is a range of the water. Please do not use it for
oil in particular, seawater, an organic solvent, a medicine. In
addition, it is a condition that regular water flows.

5-1 Installation tank

An independent blower tank or discharge tank is best; however, an aeration tank may also be
used.
(1) Water pH should be pH 6.5-9.

(2) Water temperature should be 40℃

maximum.

(3) Water removal becomes difficult when

using an aeration tank, so it is
convenient to install hoisting device for
use when maintaining the blower.

(4) Noise and water temperature should be

taken into account when choosing tank
size. Refer to the chart below for
minimum size, but use as large a tank
as possible.

When covering the tank be sure to leave

enough space for removing the lid.

5-2 Pre-installation preparation

To prevent the entry of dust, a seal was
applied to the aperture of each flange
of your blower at the time it left the
factory. These must be removed before
installation, or they may cause the
piping to become clogged.
Furthermore, in order to prevent the
reverse rotation of the motor during the
trial operation, it is helpful to run the
blower once before installing it in the
tank, checking the wiring and the
direction of engine rotation at that time.

Also, measuring the insulation resistance before installing the blower in the tank will make
subsequent maintenance easier.
Note: Be sure to test run the blower under no-load conditions. Do not test run the unsubmerged
blower for more than 20 to 30 minutes.

- 4 -
5-3 Installation position
The maximum water level is 5 meters. Be sure to take whatever precautions are necessary to
prevent the blower from being buried in sludge, etc.
The blower may be mounted on a stand; but in this case, the stand should rest solidly on the
bottom of the tank. This is especially true when using a sheet metal tank. Also, please locate the
blower as far from the tank walls as possible.

Suction silencer No.1 should be located outdoors, in an area subject to little dust or moisture. It
should not be installed within the tank, as there is much moisture there.

5-4 Anchor bolts

As the operation of the blower will not produce enough vibration to move the blower from its
position, the attachment of piping can be counted on to hold it in place.
Anchor bolts are not needed. Moreover, the base of the blower is equipped with height-adjustable
anti-vibration rubber pads.

Anchor bolts aren’t needed!

5-5 Installation surface levelness

When installing the blower on a concrete, small irregularities in the levelness of the surface will
not interfere with installation. If there are any major irregularities, adjust the height of the
anti-vibration rubber pads to ensure that the blower is installed levelly.

Height-adjustable anti-vibration rubber pads.

5-6 Piping
Use steel piping. Be sure to provide the pipes with
support in such a way that they will not put
unnecessary weight on the blower.

- 5 -
Locate the Suction aperture at least one meter above the maximum water level. (This will prevent
mist Suction and flooding of the Suction silencer.)

Also, use dry piping for Discharge piping to prevent flooding of the blower due to backflow, and to
allow attachment of accessories.

5-7 Pipes cleaning

Clean the inside of all Suction and Discharge piping before installation, to blower. Accidental
introduction of welding debris, bolts, nuts, etc., into the blower could jam the blower motor.

5-8 Wet piping

Use sealing material (rubber packing) when connecting
wet piping, and make sure that the connection is tightly
sealed.

Note: Asbestos packing and general-application

gaskets should not be used for this purpose!
Faulty connection or inadequate sealing can cause
flooding, resulting in pipe corrosion or malfunction of
the blower.
Moreover, when tightening the flange section, be sure that all bolts are tightened evenly.

5-9 Check valve

In order to prevent blower flooding due to reverse rotation of the motor or back flooding when
stopping the motor, be sure to attach a check valve. (A suitable check valve is optionally available
from ANLET.)

5-10 Airflow amount adjustment pipe

Use an airflow amount adjustment pipe (bypass discharge pipe) rather than raise the Discharge
pressure when adjusting airflow amount.

5-11 Pipe installation

Be careful that water and foreign objects do not enter the piping during installation. If it becomes
necessary to stop installation temporarily before the job is completed, apply seals to the end of
pipes, silencer flanges apertures, etc., to prevent rainwater or other moisture (Which could cause
an electrical malfunction) from entering them.

5-12 Safety valves

The short safety valve pipe (with safety valve and pressure gauge attached) should be dry piping,
to prevent flooding and moisture entry. This is because the construction and attachment of the
safety valve are as shown in the diagram below:

- 6 -
6. Trial Operation
Trial operation should be done with no water in tanks. When it is not possible to perform test runs
in a dry tank, remove the safety valve or open the dry piping on the Discharge side for the trial
operation. This is to prevent flooding of the blower’s interior as may be caused by reverse rotation
of the engine.

6-1 Confirm connection tightness of all joints

Check to ensure that all joints (particularly those which will be under water) are tightened securely.

6-2 Valve opening

Open the gate valves for the main, backup and bypass pipes. The blower should not be operated
with the pipes closed.

6-3 Insulation resistance

Use an insulation resistance tester to check the insulation of each wire connection to the motor.

6-4 Wiring attachment

200V three phase is normal.
0.4-0.75kW: Direct starting, three phase, one Cabtire (four lead)
11kW: Star-delta starting, three phase, two Cabtire (four lead/three lead)

6-5 Connection
Connect the motor Cabtire cable as shown in the illustrations below. However, if the phase
sequence of the power supply (RST) is reversed, the connection order should be changed to suit
it.
11-15 kW:

If you are no sure of the phase sequence of the power supply, use a phase tester to confirm it.
(A suitable phase tester is available separately from ANLET.)
Should reverse rotation of the engine the Suction, change the 2 phase.

- 7 -
6-6 Pre-Operation
Turn the power switch on and check the direction of air flow, and also to ensure that there is no
pipe blockage, etc.
Note: Dry-tank trial operation should be 20 to 30 minutes! Be sure to conduct trial operation under
no-load conditions.

6-7 Fill the tanks

Fill the tanks with water, so that the pump is submerged as for normal operation.

6-8 Normal operation

Turn on the submersible blower switch once again and check whether air pressure, voltage,
electrical current, amount of airflow, safety valve adjustment are normal, and also for the presence
of abnormal noises.

7. Alternate Operation
When operating blowers alternately, limit the changeover period to a week or less to avoid rotor
rusting and rotor lock which can result from long period of non-operation.

8. Typical installation
The following figures are given as examples of typical blower installation. Please refer to them
when installing the blower.

* The No.1 Suction silencer is outside the tank.

* The safety valve is on he dry piping.
* Iron piping is used.
* Maximum water level is 5 m.
* The tank opening is larger than the blower size.
* Piping supports are used.
* An overflow drain is created to handle abnormal
rises in water level.
* When the safety valve is installed as shown in
the figure, a drain hole is created to allow runoff
of rainwater.

* Since water drainage is difficult, mounting a hoist

when installing the blower can help facilitate
maintenance.
* The Suction silencer No.1 should be installed
away from the tank so as to ensure the Suction
of clean air.

- 8 -
9. Maintenance and Inspection
There are many factors which may affect the life of the blower. Maintenance and usage methods
once the blower is installed can help ensure correct functioning throughout the long life the
blower.
Performance of the following periodic inspection and maintenance items is extremely important. If
an unusual condition occurs, stop operation immediately, determine the cause, and take steps to
eliminate the problem.
