Breakdown:

Duodenum – first portion of the
small intestine
Ostomy – an artificial opening in

Definition:
During gastroduodenostomy, a
new connection is formed
between the stomach and the
duodenum. This procedure
sometimes follows the removal
of part or all of the stomach.
Also known as stomach
surgery, small intestine surgery,
stomach cancer surgery,
Hemigastrectomy, or Billroth I.
