EXPERIENCETIALISM

Teaching is a process where we impart knowledge, learnings, virtue and ideas to

our learners. It is a noble profession, and it comes with great responsibilities. As a

teacher, it important that you have the courage to do what is right for the sake of your

students. Teachers do not only teach and share knowledge, but also inspires, motivate,

and help their students to form their dreams and aspirations in life. Teachers wants

student to improve their skills, their minds, and their decision in life. They want the

students to be ready for what will gonna happen once they go out on the four-centered

classroom.

As a student, we would like to adhere our own philosophy for teaching. We would

like to propose one philosophy which is Experiencetialism. It comes from the word

“experience” which is about the knowledge and skills you have gained or wanted to

gain. As a teacher, you want your students to experienced, to learn what they wanted to

learn whether it’s about knowledge physically or the skills or the knowledge mentally.

The purpose of this philosophy is to give opportunities to those students, to experience

what they have learned, to do and show in everyone that they really gained the skills,

they learned it and want to prove to everyone.

Experiencetialism is a philosophy of teaching that focuses on the skills and ability

of the students through experiences such as conducting trainings, laboratories,

seminars, immersions, and field studies. In this philosophy of teaching, teacher focuses

on students’ skills and abilities in order to practice higher level of education.

Experiencetialism gives significant role in their life, such as helping them to improve
their skills for a better outcome. The objectives of Experentialism is to hone not just the

academic skills of the students but also the knowledge and skills thru crafts and actual

works. Where learners can practice their creativity and critical thinking, where it will

provide a productive and effective outcome. One of the goals of Experiencetialism is to

advocate the training of mind of every students through teaching basic skills that is

essential to every learners. This philosophy aim of teaching is the basic skills and

fundamentals that students should learn. The essential topics and modules that need to

prepare are reading, writing, arithmetic, actual projects and outputs. A teacher’s

objectives for learning are to deepen their students’ knowledge and learn and develop

their minds through actual experiences about the different essential skills and to help

students apply these learnings to every day lives. These objectives are important as this

help learners to master the different subject matters. And with that learners will gain

basic knowledge, skills and values. In teaching the basic skills, we would like to

emphasize the mastery of the subject matter and how they will apply the learnings they

adopt from their experience. The methods that we will use is teacher-centered as we

want to guide our students first, however we don't want to spoon-feed them, rather I

want to emphasize personal development. We are using the formative assessment

because through this, I can help my students to improve their learning. Still, we do

believe that every student have different abilities and with that, we have to be

knowledgeable enough on how to approach learners’ mental abilities and interest in

topic. It would be better if we will let them work on their own pace and at the same time

work with their assigned group. It will also help students if we will prepare variety of
materials in order for them to be interested on our topic. Using instructional technology ,

is then helpful for us also because this is highly engaging and enhance student learning

The effectiveness of this teaching philosophy is through actual assessment, in a

way of laboratories, oral examination, and actual performances. Where everyone will

show what they learned, they’ll show what skills and knowledge they got from you as a

teacher. You can measure you effectiveness in teachers through activities and

performances based on the lessons you’ve teach on them. Students will give extra effort

showing their skills and knowledge where it serves as their assessment. By this,

teachers gives student the opportunity to experience doing what they really learned.

They will do everything to show and prove themselves so that in the future hey will be

ready outside the classroom. This philosophy wants students to experience proving

themselves, their skills in order for them to be good at the goal they wanted to attain.
