How important is it for a future teacher to acquire deep understanding of learner-centered

teaching?

Answer:

A thorough understanding of learner-centered teaching is crucial for anyone planning to become a

teacher because it inspires educators to design learning experiences that are specific to each student’s
individual requirements. Students must be exposed by providing them some control over their learning
processes in order for them to be able to discover their hidden potential. The job of a teacher is to point
students on the proper path and support them as they develop their capacity for learning. Knowing what
drives the students and being aware of their interests, social and educational backgrounds are some
ways to make a positive teaching and learning environment. To sum up, learner-centered learning helps
in the development of skill sets that will better equip students for careers in professional life.

2. What do you intend to do with what you have learned of learner-centered teaching?

Answer:

Given that education is my course, understanding the significance of teacher-centered learning helps me
to some extent determine what I should do to enhance students’ learning capacities. It gives me a better
understanding of what kind of teacher I want to be in the future. In order for me to reach my full
potential as a student, I also need challenges. Therefore, when I become a teacher, I will need to provide
my students the opportunities to learn by assigning them activities that will allow them to debate,
discuss, and explain ideas. It is crucial that I understand this method of teaching because I firmly believe
that the lessons that teachers impart will always have an impact on the development of their students.
In the near future, I will be able to apply learner-centered teaching to recognize the individuality of every
single student. By doing so, I will be able to apply my sensitivity and awareness of how students brains
work as they are still learning and developing.
