DAY 1&2
LESSON TITLE The Circle
OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
 illustrates a circle and the terms related to it: radius, diameter chord,
center, arc, chord, central angle, and inscribed angle.
CORE/CORE CONTENT The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of geometry of shapes
and sizes, and geometric relationships.
LEARNING RESOURCES Empowering Through Math 7
FACE-TO-FACE CLASSROOM-BASED ACTIVITIES
1. Prayer
- Call a student to lead the opening prayer.

2. Presenting the Learning Competencies

- Show the students the objectives or the learning competencies of the lesson/topic.

3. Recall
- The teacher will call a student to recall their previous lessons and ask them to draw the following polygons and
find the respective interior angle of each.
*heptagon
*octagon
*dodecagon

4. Motivation
- The students will draw something out of the circle given in their bond paper.

5. Presenting the New Lesson

- Introduce the circles and related terms.

6. Discussion of the Concepts

- Circle is a set of all points in a plane that are equidistant from a fixed point called center.
- Radius is a segment with one endpoint at the center of the circle and the other point at any point of the circle.
- Chord is a segment that connects two points on the circle.
- A chord passing through the center of the circle is called diameter.
- Central angle of a circle is an angle whose vertex is the center of the center.

7. Developing Mastery
Identify each of the following:
1. _________ chord
2. _________ diameter
3. _________ minor arc
4. _________ a secant line
5. _________ a tangent line

2. _________ points on the circle
3. _________ the center of the circle
4. _________ points in the interior of the circle
5. _________ points in the exterior of the circle

HOME-BASED ACTIVITIES
Instruct the students to do the following tasks as their assignment.
1. Assignment (Required)
Complete the table.
