HERE’S the SCOOP

Week of: September 11th - September 15th

LOOK WHAT WE’RE LEARNING
Writing: Students created a picture out of a squiggle and then wrote about it. These will be hanging
up for you to see at Open House! We also created a heart map to help us come up with ideas for
stories.

Math: We began our first unit in math and have started to learn about the concepts of
multiplication and division. Today we got to use cookies to divide!

Reading: We learned how to pick good fit books and when it’s appropriate for readers to abandon
books. We’ve been practicing Read to Self and building our stamina!

UPDATES/REMINDERS
1. Open House is Thursday, September 21 from 4:30-6:00. I hope to see you there!

2. Next week, students will be getting their first homework packet. It involves a spelling list to
practice at home, a reading log, a math homework sheet, and a fact fluency sheet. These will
go home every Monday and please have your child complete and return them every Friday!
