METHODS OF THE STUDY AND SOURCES OF DATA

This chapter deals with the research design, the place and time of the study, the

respondents, sample technique, sample size, research instrument, categorization of variable, data

gathering procedure, data analysis and the validation of the instrument.

Research Design

This research uses the quantitative – non experimental design utilizing the

survey-questionnaire technique. Quantitative research which is define as investigation of

happenings by gathering numerical data and applying statistical treatment (Anup

Surrendran,2019). This study also utilizes non-experimental study which is a form of research

where researchers cannot manipulate either predictor to see how does it affect criterion variable.

The design will be used since the main purpose of the study is to determine the academic

challenges of the working students at St. Rose College Educational Foundation Inc.

Locale of the Study

The study was conducted in St. Rose Colleges Educational Foundation Inc. located at

Barangay Samput, Paniqui, Tarlac during A.Y. 2022 – 2023.

participants of our study. Participant were given time to answer and then the researcher will

collect the questionnaire checklist if the respondents are done answering. After getting and

tallying the response of the participants, results were collated and presented statistically.

Research Instruments

The research question made by the researchers were all accurate. The inquiry will

undergo first with the evaluation and validation process, attested by the validator Mr. Alvin

Manzon. After the approval, the questions will be pilot tested. The instrument used in this study

is checklist. A checklist is a type of questionnaire which consists of a list of questions or

statements that help gather information about their opinion.

The Checklist that was used by the researcher was composed of three parts, the

respondents were given choices to choose between Strongly Disagree, Disagree, Neutral, Agree
