SCIENCE-RECITATION

Lesson 1: Force and motion

Lesson 2: Inertia
Lesson 3: Newton’s third law of motion
Lesson 4: Potentials and kinetic Energy

Laws of motion:

1. Law of inertia
2. Law of Acceleration
3. Law of Interaction
4. Law of Action-Reaction

What is Inertia?

An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted upon by another

force. an object at motion will remain at motion unless acted upon by
another force.

pigilan

Potential energy and Kinetic energy

Potential energy is the energy possessed by a body by virtue of its

position or state. Kinetic energy is energy possessed by a body by
virtue of its movement.

What is the difference between Potential Energy and Kinetic

Energy?

Potential Energy exists when an object is at rest

Kinetic Energy exists when at object is in motion
kinetic is energy associated with motion then potential is not
associated.

The difference between potential and kinetic energy is that Kinetic

energy is relative to other moving and stationary objects in its
immediate environment while potential energy is not relative to the
environment of object. Potential energy stored its energy in an
object because of its position.

 Potential energy is the energy possessed by a body due to its

configuration in the external environment.
 Example:A body experiences gravitational potential energy in
the gravitational field.
 Kinetic energy is the energy possessed by a body due to its
relative motion.

KE= 1\2 mv 2 (squared), mv (Mass, velocity)

PE=mgh, mgh (Mass, acceleration due to gravity, height)
