FUTURE CONTINUOUS
Na język polski tłumaczymy go trybem niedokonanym (będę pracować, będziemy sprzątać, będą spać).
– I will
be working tomorrow at 3 pm. – Będę pracować jutro o 3 po południu.
• Mówimy o przypuszczeniach pojawiających się w chwili mówienia, np. I will probably be cleaning my
house on Saturday.
Eva will be visiting her parents on Friday after work. – Eva
będzie odwiedzać rodziców w piątek po pracy.

Ćwiczenie 4/Exercise 4
Read the texts below and decide which of the four sentences matches each text the best. Two
sentences match one text.
Przeczytaj trzy teksty i zdecyduj, które z poniższych czterech zdań najlepiej pasuje do danego
tekstu. Dwa zdania pasują do jednego tekstu.
1. Adele’s favourite way of communication is texting online. She says it is the most convenient.
She uses many different online communicators. She says she likes it because nobody interrupts
her when she is busy and she can reply whenever she has some free time. It is a very good way
of communication for busy people, those who work a lot or for stay-at-home mums with small
children. Although there is one minus of texting online – it is easy to miss important information.
There is a big chance you won’t see an important message on time.
2. My grandma loves talking on the phone. Whenever I want to call her, it is busy. She doesn’t know
anything about technology, so she doesn’t use email or any other online communication tool. She
doesn’t even have a smartphone. She uses her old mobile phone which doesn’t let her know when
somebody else is calling so she never knows who to call back. Sometimes I try to contact her with
some important news, but the line is always busy, or she doesn’t answer the phone because she
doesn’t hear it. It is a real disaster!
3. Peter is a huge fan of emails. This is probably because he sends millions of email messages at work.
He works in customer service and he is responsible for replying to customers' emails. It is a very big
and famous company which advertises a lot. They advertise on TV and radio, distribute flyers, and
have billboards and posters in busy places in big cities. That is why many people send emails asking
for more information about for example, price, delivery, etc. In his work Peter only communicates
through emails. He doesn't talk to customers on the phone or use online communicators. Peter
loves his job!
Ćwiczenie 5/Exercise 5
Choose the most appropriate response for each of the situations described from answers a, b, or c.
1. Kolega próbuje się zalogować do komputera swojej siostry i przeczytać jej emaile dla żartu. Jak
mu powiesz, żeby tego nie robił?
a) She will be happy you did it.
b) You must call your sister and ask her for permission.
c) You shouldn’t do it. It is not fair to your sister.
2. Przyniosłeś do naprawy komputer. Pobrałeś aktualizacje i teraz nie działa Ci klawiatura. Jak
poinformujesz o tym osobę naprawiającą komputer?
a) I downloaded the updates and now my keyboard is not working.
b) I downloaded some files and I can't type on my keyboard.
c) My computer has broken down, but I don’t know why.
a) I will never get a new smartphone.
b) I would like to get a new smartphone.
c) I will get a new smartphone.
4. Chcesz porozmawiać z kolegą o ważnej rzeczy. Jak zaproponujesz mu osobiste spotkanie jutro
o 16:00?
a) Can we meet face to face tomorrow at 4 pm?
b) I hope you will be there tomorrow at 4 pm.

Tekst 1
Hi Caroline,
I am worried about my daughter Anna. I think she spends too much time watching
TV, playing computer games, and using her smartphone. She constantly texts her
friends even while she is doing her homework! Two days ago, she was studying
for her English exam. I came into Anna’s room, and I saw her watching some funny
films on YouTube, laughing out loud and listening to music at the same time! I asked
her how she could focus on anything while doing so many different things and she
replied she was multi-tasking like all her friends.
A few days ago, I found an interesting article in a magazine. It says that multi-
tasking is good in general but, it has a bad effect on learning new things, according
to researchers. Dividing your attention between two or more activities makes the
information you learn harder to use later. I showed it to Anna, and she said that
she couldn’t focus only on one thing that’s why she was surrounded by a computer,
smartphone, TV, and other electronic devices. She hardly ever goes out with her
friends! They all use internet communicators all the time instead of meeting in
a café or restaurant. I tried to explain to her that there’s a better life beyond the
screen and that the pleasure of face-to-face communication cannot be replaced but
she said she prefers her own way.
Is your daughter the same? Do you have the same problems with your children? What
should I do?
