This section shows the calculation of seismic forces in accordance with ASCE7-16 & SBC 203

Structure Parameters
h = 15.60 m Average roof height of structure
z = 0.000 m Height in structure of point of attachment of component with respect to base (0 if on ground)
site = D Site classification (Table 20.3-1)

Spectral Acceleration
As per SBC 301 Figure 9.4.1(b) & Figure 9.4.1(k) the following are the acceleration parameters.
SS = 0.50 Spectral response acceleration parameter at short period
S1 = 0.18 Spectral response acceleration parameter at 1 sec period

Design Spectral Acceleration Parameters

Fa = 1.400 Site coefficient - Short Period
Fy = 2.000 Site coefficient - Long Period

Site Coefficient and Risk-targeted MCER spectral response acceleration parameters

SMS = F aS S

0.2100 0.1680 1.1200

b. Vertical Seismic Force factor in accordance with ASCE7-16 Section 13.3.1.2.

FPV = 0.2SDS
