ABSTRACT

In the current situation of our continuous studying, a new normal was

implemented due to the current situation. No face-to-face studies were allowed and

modules were given to the students as the new way of studying. Most students have

difficulty understanding the lessons given to them on their own and this leads to stress.

This study aimed to find out the levels of stress when facing academic demands

among Grade 12 HUMSS students of Aim High Colleges Incorporated.

The research sample consisted of 30 Grade 12 HUMSS students of Aim High

Colleges Incorporated, of the School Year 2022-2023. The researcher used a survey

questionnaire that was validated to gather the data needed for the study.

Likert’s Method of computing the weighted mean was used to find the weighted

mean and a two-way ANOVA was used to determine the effects in terms of gender,

factors and to find out the interaction between.

It was found that the students experienced high levels of stress in module

activities and google classroom, and the students experienced average levels of stress in

exams, most of the students experience sadness or depression due to stress, the factors

have a significant effect on academic stress, gender has no significant effect on the stress

levels, and there is no interaction between the factors.

Keywords: Stressors, factors, exams, module activities and depression
