Clarification - The Standardisation of Employment

Contracts in
Maintenance & Works Delivery to Carillion/GTRM
(IMC25)

Document Owner: Chair NMC/ IMC25 Clarification31_01 2023/v10

OFFICIAL

Summary of Key Points of Clarification

1. IMC25 is the standard contract for new starters, including apprentices.

2. The standard contract (IMC25) will be offered on promotion to current colleagues but isn’t compulsory i.e. colleagues can stay on their
existing IMC contract.

3. Ex-apprentices who, as part of the agreed recruitment pause, received a salary increase to the relevant IMC salary but not an IMC contract
will have the choice of the applicable IMC contract or IMC25 on appointment to first permanent role

4. An expression of interest window will operate for colleagues interested in exploring the benefits of a voluntary lateral transfer to IMC25.
Transfers will take effect from 1st October 2024.

5. There are c10,000 colleagues in Maintenance & Works Delivery, 67 different contracts and pay, premiums etc varies - its complicated.

6. 4,800 (c45%) colleagues would be overall better off, on average by 6%, if they transferred to the standard contract, which provides the
most generous annual leave & London allowances. 67% would be better off on base salary.

7. Creates a route for Amey ‘40 hour’ colleagues to transition to a 35-hour week and benefit from an increase in their pensionable pay, for
future service, from 60% of salary to the maximum of salary (in line with pension rules)

8. All 3 grades, Operatives, Technicians & Team Leaders benefit from the IMC25 base salary

Standard Contract for Maintenance & Works Delivery

• All newly recruited colleagues (Operatives, Technicians and Team Leaders) to the Maintenance & Works Delivery
organisations will only be appointed on the contract currently known as the GTRM/Carillion (IMC25) contract. This is the
standard contract for the Maintenance and Works Delivery organisations.

• Colleagues currently employed in the Maintenance & Works Delivery organisations are unaffected by the standardisation
of employment contracts for new recruits and will remain on their current contract of employment.

• In the case of promotion, colleagues employed on an IMC contract other than the standard contract (GTRM/Carillion) will
be offered the choice of promotion on their existing contract or the standard contract.
