Introduction to Global Marketing and Sales

Global marketing is done on a world wide scale in different countries it refers to the activities
which is designed to plan ,promote,price as well as coordinate and integrate across multiple
countries in order to gain growth and profits. Basically it is like a company tries to sell the
same product from local market to the global market for growing business and to achieve
good opportunities in order to meet global objectives.

PROCESS INSIGHT

Awareness

Global sales and marketing a concept I am aware of as before management studies was my
background but it was theoretical concept which I learned and was indulged in my home
country INDIA (Mumbai) with multilingual people around me but still it built confidence as
we are bit familiar with people and culture around as well as the marketing strategy used in
urban and rural areas in my country. Local sales and marketing has been basically something
which we usually came across as it includes unique selling techniques and attracting the king
of the market (customers) was the only aim of the local market.

When,how and with whom did I learned most effectively?

Cultural difference and language barrier is what I noticed here while working around with
different group of students around me but still with mutual understanding and cooperation we
tend to perform multiple times together it was essential to interact with people around
everyday, I learn something new as we came from different background and have different
opinion and mindset this concept was brainstorming the project idea , concepts as well as
video making and reporting every lecture has interaction sessions and this bought awareness
how much, I knew before and how many things are still spending for me to learn the best part
about this course was we actually gathered around multiple group of students with different
countries and every country has its own unique techniques of selling its product in the market
each concepts were clarified with sharing examples which made it more clear to understand
the whole concept . few students from different countries in Europe came forward to help
whenever required as in mind we formed the concept but were confused how to present it in a
perfect manner. I learned new techniques which further got great appreciation . This is how
by motivating each other we perform well.
Contribution

As each and every one of us were from different background like arts ,engineering finance it
was difficult to make others understand the whole concept still if we think according to the
manager its our duty to manage such situations and so without getting stressed we started
with first planning the whole concept discussion about the project work and then distribution
of the work . we let others write first and share their ideas and opinion as everyone has
different thinking capacity and so this is how after working together we had a glance at each
and every team persons work and compile it with the corrections done by me .

Surprising

Something which was unexpected and never did before and learn before was video making
concept as I am aware of the marketing concept as per my background but this was totally
new as our studies is more theoretical in home country and here its different and more
creative.

Learning outcomes

As per my knowledge and skills I gave my best to the whole criteria of the project which was
essential for me to share my skills I had to put forth in every aspects whether it is project
concept or video making and even project report as from last several years I was indulge in
management studies and so this makes me feel bit easier to deal with the task and even I can
manage group working as it requires tolerance ,patience ,time management ,proper
communication, proper work distribution ,responsibility and punctuality .

While making project we went through all big 6 emotion so even emotional management is
must while doing any work.As the brand was familiar which we choose as our group
members focused more on such food items which targets the Asian as well as European
market thought about the health benefits and well being of the customers and so we were
concerned about the spice brand and we were willing to have spices all around the world as
it's our essential need being from India and so at least we learned that if we make decisions
and should be able to concentrate and not keep on changing the decision as this affects other
group members thoughts and may create conflicts Between our group members as it was not
easy as we realized each one of us had different experience and comes from different
backgrounds and it was essential to plan accordingly and listen each other while making a
project step by step As per the learning after all the lectures and going through all the slides
and audio lectures we all decided before stepping Forward it is better to have knowledge
about what and how and when and where we are going to implement the whole project and
build it's marketing strategy and implement the whole strategy to run it smoothly in local and
global market.

Complications and solution


While working together it was fine when it comes to writing something or doing a research
work but the most difficult part was video making which we never ever did before after
thinking one whole day we made PPT and wasted the whole day just by doing discussion
about the points to discuss this created misunderstanding bit annoying situation as we were
not able to implement anything but suddenly it strike my mind by looking at my friend
working in kitchen using same brand and from their we planned lets create a role play and
this is how we managed to create everything in a smooth way by taking each others help
while recording a video .
we ourselves need to control and act according to the situation and find the solution while
working in a group just to complete the task in an appropriate manner. We started to think
like a sales person and acted according to it .
Planning
Before making the whole project we require proper planning and so this is what we did
before had a glimpse of our project work wrote it down in book from start to end according to
the weeks and covered the part step by step as not each of us were aware about the global
marketing of MDH spice and so it became bit complicated as the spices were not facing
high competitor risk and we were stuck while thinking how this spice can be sold around in
local European market or even Finland as the local people here just consume few spices and
we thought they are not attracted towards it or does not rely on spices like Asian consumers
do ,why would they use this product on daily bases this were the questions but after the
research work done by me and even I asked my room mate as he is Finnish and he asked his
friends as well that yes now a days even European are willing to use traditional Asian spices
as they feel that it taste delicious and would recommended everyone around to taste different
Asian cuisine and got health benefits to stay fit .we focused on models like Hofstede model
and Porters model and even worked on how to enter new market and ethics .

Implementation

After getting clear in the concept now the question was if they really love Indian spices how
can we spread it across the world as the sales channel is limited and require trade agreements
and proper locations as well but still we decided this can happen through various medium and
as such currently the scenario is Indian spices is demanded ever where and so their is a
chance to see these spices in local retail shop in near future as we can make this happen as
spices has immense health benefits and so as the Europeans are more health conscious and
can drive into such trend and each one of them can start using these spices in their daily diet.

Think local act global

This term refers few ways in which a firm need to adapt certain planning for its product or
brand to suit every local person in particular place.So after all spreading awareness of spices
we thought if in future the demand increases we will spread spices distribution channel not
only in Inter and Intra city but also all around the European countries as spices are doing well
in USA and UK but now if its possible then why not make it happen . by learning new
concept of marketing strategy and sales as well as trading this was something which we
actually understood after doing research work together with several example the concept got
more clear .

Overall the subject is more significant for the future marketing and sales person for
developing the business one should understand the core marketing principals and think
according to the new marketing trends by focusing on proper Intenal and External
environment of the firm for business growth and keep on building marketing strategies and
planning to run smooth in the global market .
