MINIATURE'S DEN PATREON GUIDES:

ABBADON THE
DESPOILER
Gold NMM
PAINTS USED
IN THIS GUIDE
AK: Golden Brown
Kimera: Sun Ray
Reaper: Russet Brown
Aerocolor Ink: Brazil Brown
PART 1

The gold elements were basecoated in Reaper Russet Brown.

I then sketched the first light using AK Golden Brown. It's important to understand that this color is
what would be considered the midtone, meaning the "real" color of the gold when affected by light,
enough to show it but not enough to highlight it. This color was placed pretty much everywhere the
volumes faced the light source (above, slightly to the left).
To blend, I used my trusty method of applying a 50-50 mix of the two layers in the area separating them,
with a very unloaded brush with a consistency of a slightly thinned basecoat.
PART 2

Adding Kimera Sun Ray to the mix allowed me to create an highlight color, which was placed inside of the
previous areas of light, placed more precisely on the area of relflection of the sun, as well as the edges.
PART 3

To complete the gold element, I glazed a very thin filter of Aerocolor Brazil Brown Ink over the entirety of
the gold, and then strenghtened the lights once more with layers of pure Sun Ray.
