AVATAR OF

MINIATURE'S DEN PATREON GUIDES:

KHAINE
Dark Red NMM
PAINTS USED
IN THIS GUIDE
Kimera: Violet
AK: Burnt Red
PART 1
The armor was basecoated in Kimera Violet + AK Burnt Red.
I added more Burnt Red to the mix and sketched the first light, making sure to keep it small as to convey
the idea of a dark material. The placement of the highlight followed the volumes on the sculpt, flat areas
had the light deposited at their bottom, cylindrical areas over their lenght etc.
PART 2
TWhile the picture looks a lot more advanced then the previous, not much has actually happened when it
comes to "steps" executed. I added a very light orange (white + orange) to the previous mix to sketch
the lights, again, making sure to keep them as small as possible. In order to still give the illusion of metal
while keeping the lights small, I placed multiple points of lights, you can see it clearly on the right knee.
Rather than one single light, I placed multiple "dots" of it.
PART 2
Finally, I worked on blending the colors together with in-between mixtures of the layers already present,
applied with a layering conistency on the separation between the layers through small dots.
