MINIATURE'S DEN PATREON GUIDES:

BIKE
Chaplain Gold NMM
WHY THIS MODEL?
This model wasn't initially intended for my Patreon, but due to
Brexit/COVID the model I ordered didn't arrive and I had to
scramble to get something done. Regardless, I had a lot of fun
painting this model and doing some minor weathering on the bike.
As always, this model is part of my monthly giveaway happening
on my Twitch channel www.twitch.tv/miniaturesden so if you want
a chance at winning this model, come hang out there!
PAINTS USED
IN THIS GUIDE
Vallejo Model Color: English Uniform, Black,
Ivory
AK: Anthracite Grey, Sunny Skintone
Shmincke Ink: Black
GOLD BASECOAT
AND HIGHLIGHT
I basecoated the gold with a mix of Aerocolor Black Ink, VMC English Uniform and a bit of AK
Anthracite Grey. I wanted this gold to feel different from the one the bike, mostly for the
sake of diversity.
The first highlight was created by painting VMC Orange Brown onto all areas where there
wouldn't be a shadow, paying attention to the armor highlights and making sure that my
lights on the gold were aligned with the ones on the black.
SECOND HIGHLIGHT
II created a mix of VMC Orange Brown and Reaper Lemon Yellow and used it to further highlight the gold,
still paying attention to the armor highlights and making sure the gold lights were working together with
the armor rather than look out of place.
LAST HIGHLIGHT,
LEATHER AND REDS
I completed the gold adding a touch of Ivory to the previous highlight mix, focusing mostly on the edges
and the very brightest points of light on the gold.
The leather was painted with VMC Hull Red and then highlighted with AK Sunny Skintone to edge highlight
and highlight.
The weapon handle was painted with a mix of AK Burnt Red + Black which I then highlighted with pure
scarlet red.
In the case of the eyes, I also used Ivory to stipple small dots of light, suggesting a lense.
