Year 1895 when William G. Morgan created a game named volleyball where he combined the
elements of basketball, baseball, tennis, and handball for his classes of businessmen which would
demand less physical contact than basketball. This game was first called Mintonette but then later on
called volleyball. For a few years, it was purely an American sport before crossing countries to become
one of the most thrilling and popular sports played worldwide. The first exhibition match of volleyball is
played at Springfield College at year 1896, a year after it was created. Each team must comprise 6
person and in terms of scoring, it changes from 21 to 15 per set. Volleyball is now played throughout the
world. Volleyball is one of the top three sports for female high school athletes, according to research.
Recreational volleyball, on the other hand, is becoming increasingly popular among individuals of all
ages.
