Punjab Police on Wednesday arrested two suspicious persons
during a special naka at Thatian, Jandiala while they tried to run-away spotted
the police naka, but police caught them and during checking 280 gm of heroin
were recovered from their possession. Those arrested are identified as
Lovepreet Singh s/o Mangal Singh, resident of Jandiala Guru and Gurbhej
Singh alias Laddi s/o Daya Singh, resident of village Mallian, Jandiala and a
case under relevant sections has been registered against them at police station
Jandiala. In a separate case, police party during a naka arrested another person
and siezed 4 gm of heroin from Adda Talwandi Ghuman, Kathunangal.
Accused identified as Jobanpreet Singh s/o Gurmeet Singh, resident of
Chachowali. Preliminary investigation revealed that Joban has been involved
in drug peddling for last two years and a case under NDPS Act has already
registered against him at police station Kathunangal and now police has
registered another case under NDPS Act against him at police station
Kathunangal. Police investigations have been initiated into the above cases for
further leads.
In another case, police officials were on a routine round up in
Akalgarh, Jandiala when they spotted three suspecious persons coming
towards them on a motorcyle, police stopped them and during checking 865
narco-pills were recovered from their possession. Accused identified as Vishal
Singh s/o Keval Singh, Husanpreet Singh s/o Puppy Singh and Sukhchain
Singh s/o Pargat Singh, all are resident of Akalgarh Dhapaian, Jandiala and a
case under NDPS Act has been registered against them at police station
Jandiala and further investigation is being started into the case.
